Yesterday, we celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary. While it wasn’t how we hoped to celebrate, similar to last year on our 10th anniversary. We made the most of it with our third wheel joining us. It’s alright because she’s really cute and loves us. We booked a patio table at the Coal Harbor Cactus Club and enjoyed a nice lunch together.
We had hoped to do a vow renewal on our 10th anniversary but that didn’t work out. Now we are still waiting and hoping to get to go to where we got married and take family photos. In a way, it all works out because we were 5 months pregnant this time last year and now we have the whole crew to be able to take part in a vow renewal in the future. * Hey Jason… maybe Ireland for our 15th? *
Now, we did take the above photo to celebrate. Getting all dressed up for it.
While we were downtown in Vancouver we realized that there are a bunch of different floral displays in the areas as part of the Fleurs de Villes. It’s on right now until June 20th. According to the map we were given at the floral pyramid, there are 51 different instillations. If you have a chance to go, grab a coffee and head out for a walk to see them all.
This area of Vancouver always reminds us of the Vancouver Olympics, mostly because of the cauldron, but also of the summer camp we volunteer at. We depart on the boat from downtown. In a way it was fitting to visit out this direction on our anniversary, we were married on the island the summer camp is located on.
The weather on the day of our anniversary was very similar to the Tuesday we were married on. Yes, we got married on a Tuesday. Raining in the morning with lots of clouds, only to clear up around 10 am and be beautiful out.
It was nice to sit down in a restaurant and enjoy a hot meal together. Though the fries arrived moderately warm, but Orie enjoyed those and they kept her busy while we ate. Anyone else a fan of the cajun chicken sandwich? We had a very laid-back, simple anniversary.
