How far along? 18Weeks, 1 Day
Maternity clothes? Yuppers. Loving belly bands on pants. Bring on Thanksgiving dinner this October (baby so better be here before then… I hope). My problem right now is that shirts have never been long enough really, and add in a baby bump. Well, I needed more length. Thankfully that is where the tank top comes in for layering. I’m also braving wearing skinny jeans. I would have never done that before pregnancy, but I found a pair I really like.
Stretch marks? Still no new ones to count for, just the old ones showing up a bit.
Belly Button in or out? Still very much in. I would be surprised if my belly button pops.
Sleep: I have not been sleeping well for the past few weeks. I wake up around 4:30 or so and that’s it. No more sleep for me. They have also been spraying for gypsy moths in our area so the loud helicopter hovering right over our home and shaking it, does not help at 5am. I would love a good solid nap after work each day, but it’s just not happening with a toddler who refuses to go have her own nap lately.
Best moment this week: I am simply really looking forward to going to my check up with week, and hearing the heart beat. I have a doppler at home but the ones in the doctors office must be more powerful. The doctor always finds the heart beat so quickly and it comes in so loud. I am a bit nervous as it has been a month since my last appointment.
Worst moment this week: This week has been hard emotionally for other reasons. A sweet little girl, with the most infectious smile went home to heaven. She impacted my heart, and many others. Her mother is the most incredible writer. This hit home for so many reasons… my daughter was born the same year, as a mom, and as an EA. So very thankful for the promise of heaven this week.
Movement: Lots of movement. The other day at work this kiddo would not stop moving, and at one point got a good little jab in. I fear for my ribs in a few months. Evie got me good several times, this little one will probably be doing the same in no time.
Food cravings: Sushi! I wanted California rolls and thankfully my hubby agreed we should all go out for sushi. I checked before going, and imitation crab is totally fine to consume while pregnant. Right now, I could really go for a good berry filled smoothie. Wonder if my family will mind if I use the blender before work?
Miss Anything? Energy. This pregnancy I’ve been a lot more tired. I am working pretty much full time, and coming home to a toddler. I’m pretty much done by noon, and zapped of everything by 5pm. I’ve crawled into bed right after putting Evie to sleep for the night several times. They say energy levels come back in the second trimester… liars! Not for me so far.
Anything making you queasy or sick: It may be because my sense of smell is intensified, but it’s the same as when I was pregnant with Evie, I have more food eversions now in the second trimester than I did before. Sitting in the lunch room at work is brutal sometimes. Don’t even get me started on smelly shoes. The worst though is porridge. BLAH! I’m hoping and praying that one stops before I volunteer in the kitchen at my summer camp for a week.
Have you started to show yet: I’ve heard a lot more “congratulations” at work recently, people are definitely noticing more. I would say I am showing now, and there is no hiding it. I can still see my feet!
Gender prediction: I’m going with girl.
Looking forward to: My detail ultrasound and hopefully finding out if we are having a boy or girl. I can’t wait to start making room plans and changing things around. I’m hoping to be fully organized before the crazy hot weather hits this summer. Would really appreciate your prayers that all is well when I go for the detail ultrasound in two weeks.

You look beautiful. I love hearing about pregnancy experiences. Everyone’s are so different, yet there are similarities. My sense of smell was out of control. My husband told me it was my “super power.” I’m glad that one went away!
