Today marks 46 days of Summer vacation. We celebrated with an outing. Well, we didn’t really celebrate, but we did go out to Ikea. Which of course causes all sorts of random quotes from a certain movie to pop into mind. We needed to pick up a few things, plus with the smoke in the air from the forest fires in BC, a change of environment and some AC was welcomed.
We’re off to go camping soon and the place we are staying at has cabanas with bunk beds, but the bunk beds don’t have guard rails. I have heard from others that the guard rails from Ikea fit, so I wanted to grab at least one of those for Addie. Last year she was in the pack-n-play but is much too big to sleep in that this year.

I’M SENSING A TRIP TO IKEA
I was also on the hunt for towels for the girl’s bathroom. I’d struck out in other places and didn’t want to spend too much knowing that the girls will likely destroy them again anyway! Thankfully, Ikea did not disappoint. The one thing I didn’t realize, until getting home, is that their hand towels are ridiculously big. They are more like a small, kids size towel. Oh well, fold it in three and it will be grand.
We found everything we needed and of course a few other things. It’s almost like Costco where you go in wanting two things and come out with a buggy full of stuff. We ended up with a few other items for camping; bag clips and baggies. The best thing though was that I finally figured out something for storing all of my cookie cutters and other random baking stuff in the kitchen. I found these stackable containers that come in a variety of sizes with flat lids. I’ll have to show you all once I finish purging and reorganizing the kitchen.
If you find you’re getting a bit bored with the last few of days of summer break coming up, consider an outing to Ikea. We spent a good chunk of time wandering around and the girls loved going through all the different displays. We also grabbed a quick bite to eat. PS… Evie says their macaroni is like what you get in Disneyland. That made her day!

I wish I lived closer to an IKEA – I’d be there all the time! Every so often we make the trip out to stock up on things we’ve been needing for our home. Looks like you guys had a great trip.

I am sure you had a wonderful time there! I appreciate IKEA furniture, only that in my area there isn’t an IKEA, so I have to make a trip to them to the nearest big city 🙂

I can totally resonate with the Costo – go to get one thing and end up with 20! Love all the photos and the fun and joy that you captured in your girls!
