We have made it through to the other side of the mountain, or so it feels. Jason’s surgery is complete with stitches and staples to show for it. He is home and recovering, trying to take it as easy as possible with kiddos running around.
After realizing he wouldn’t be able to lift Addie in and out of the crib, Tamara managed to assemble the crib into a toddler bed twice. Yes, twice. Thankfully Jason came to the rescue and helped to figure out what was wrong. Addie was thrilled to see that she had a big girl bed just like Evie. She went to sleep instantly at bedtime. We’re still saying a prayer that she will continue to be so amazing at bedtime and not get out of bed to play with toys or read books.
From Jason:
Thank you for all your messages, your texts, your calls, and your prayers. I truly am blessed to be surrounded by so many loving people. My surgery went well and I am now resting at home or trying to at least. Pain is manageable but sleep is difficult. We continue to put all our worry and anxiety on Him for His yoke is easy and His burden is light. And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
BE STRONG AND COURAGEOUS – Joshua 1:9
We cannot thank everyone enough for all of their love and support, we appreciate it so much. The constant support has left a huge impact on us. From Tamara’s co-workers checking on her. To friends sending messages the day of and even stopping by to drop off food for the family. We have not been alone on this journey. Please continue to pray for Jason’s healing, for a quick recovery from the surgery and for a good night’s sleep. Pray for what is to come at checkups in the future, that cancer will not be back! We also ask that you pray for those who are also still on their journey through their battle with cancer. This is something that impacts so many.

The pictures in this post are beautiful and so private, thank you for sharing. Are you also sharing what kind of cancer or perhaps what symptoms Jason experienced to find out he may have cancer? Hugs ❤️

This brings back so many memories for me. The year I had my youngest son, my husband found out he had a growth that they were unable to get out during the first colonoscopy, nor the second one just a couple of months later. As well, during that second one it had grown quite a bit so they were quite concerned. He ended up getting scheduled for surgery….6 weeks after my scheduled c-section! My youngest made a surprise appearance a few days earlier, but when it came time to take my husband to the hospital, holy hormonal emotional roller coaster! By the end of the day I was one exhausted mama! Turns out the growth was pre-cancerous and had he not had it removed when he did, it was very close to becoming cancer.
I hope and pray that Jason is out of the woods and doesn’t have to go through this again!

I can’t imagine the stress I would feel if that happened to my husband. Your photos look so ‘real’ that it really hits home. Thanks for sharing your journey♥
