It has been a little quiet around here on the blog this summer. Honestly, our summer felt like a bit of a write-off with our youngest getting injured in gymnastics. That changed a lot of our plans and many things were canceled. Thankfully, we were told it would be okay for us to still go for a little road trip to drive up to Oliver and go on our annual camping trip at The Lakeside Resort. It’s a highlight of our summer!
If you’ve never been to The Lakeside Resort, it’s basically glamping… if you want. Sure you can book a tent site. Which some of our family does. We book a cabana each time we go. This means we have bunk beds for the girls, a bed for us, a fridge, electricity, running water, and yes… there is wifi! Tuc El Nuit is a fantastic little lake.
The beach at the resort is very sandy and the water is shallow for a good stretch. This helps us feel a bit better about the girls being in the water with their puddle jumpers or life jackets on. Plus, there’s always a sandcastle contest which is fun to see what people create. Every day the girls would be asking to go to the beach to make castles or to go swimming right after breakfast.
Each trip here is filled with memories that I hope our girls have for the rest of their lives.
