A rainbow is a promise. God’s promise. A rainbow often appears after a storm. It is full of colour, and brings so much joy.
We are expecting again! This little one, and Evie, are called rainbow babies. A “rainbow baby” is a baby that is born following a miscarriage, still birth, or loss of a child.
We are so excited to finally be sharing this news with everyone.
We prayed for this child and the Lord granted us what we asked of Him.
– 1 Samuel 1:27
We let a few of our family and friends know as soon as we found out that we were pregnant again and asked them to keep us and this little one in their prayers, they have been our prayer team. We ask that you also join us in continuing to pray. We are so thrilled, but so nervous at the same time. We are trying to hand all of it over to God in prayer, and continue to trust Him. No matter what, we will love on this child every day he or she is with us, no matter how short or how long that may be.
If this baby is on time, he or she will be welcomed into our arms around October 16th, but if he or she is like Evie we will see them around the end of the month. We are so looking forward to the fall, and Evie has decided that the baby is a girl. For now, we wait to find out. Thank you for your continued prayer and support as our family grows.

I had never heared of calling a baby after a miscarriage/loss a rainbow baby. I love it though, just like you said above a rainbow comes after a storm. My second child is a rainbow baby. Looking at it that way doesn’t make the storm easier to get through, but it makes the outcome that much better. Congrats to you and your family!
