Summer is the prefect time to accept the mess. A mess can be a good thing.
While many moms and dads alike get anxious over the mess that can develop at home. Such as dishes not done, the laundry monster in the hall way of the house, or the toys exploded everywhere. I get it, those things are often on our minds as something to get dealt with.
This summer I’m accepting that some mess is a good thing. I want to see my daughter’s clothing covered in dirt and grass stains. I want her to come into the house with mud on her feet and dirt stained flip flop lines. I want to see frozen yogurt melted all over her hands causing them to be sticky.
I’m accepting that some mess is totally welcome this summer. These things, and more are signs of a day we’ll spent. Memories have been made, and moments of spontaneity have happened.
Bring on the mess!
You can see what messes we get up to by following Discovering Parenthood on Facebook, and Instagram.

Love this!!! Truer words were never spoken. Mess means there are memories being made and that’s all that matters!

It’s something I’ve been struggling with, and have now fallen in love with. Bring on all the amazing memories.

The nice thing about summer is that you can let your kids run around with barely any clothes on since it’s hot! My toddler loves playing in his water table, so I usually just take his clothes off and let him have fun!
discoveryparent says
That is the best way to go about it. Just let them have at it.

As the messy one in my home, I love this message. Let the kids be kids…you can clean the mess when your kids are in college 🙂
discoveryparent says
That’s exactly it… it’s time to let kids be kids.

We are embracing the mess too! Heck, not just at summer lol! I’ve had to let a lot of that stuff slide with baby #3’s arrival or I’d drive myself bonkers being stressed over the mess. Plus, something feels really good when my kids have had such a good day outside that they need to be hosed off. lol!

Definitely need to embrace the mess when you have kids, and add more. It’s too much stress and anxiety otherwise. Soon enough they will all be the age to help out more too. I love when my daughter is so messy that she needs to be hosed off after a fun day of playing. It’s the best!

Over the years I have learned to accept the mess. It’s a lot easier in summer though! We’re in winter here, so the place is pretty messy, and wet haha
discoveryparent says
Where abouts are you Maria that is it winter? I do so much better in fall and winter, I don’t do hot. I do agree that it is a lot easier to go with the flow of things in the summer.

I’m in New Zealand, which means we are only 9 days into Winter. BOOHOO! 😛
