I am so incredibly thankful to live in a time where you can easily capture photos to save a moment in time. The newborn stage goes by so quickly, if you blink you miss it. Adaiah is already 3 weeks old and has changed so much from the way she looked the day she was born. With our first born, Everly, we kept our newborn photos very simple. They were more like a family photoshoot capturing a bit of what our day was like as a new family. I wanted to keep Addie’s newborn photos very simple too, getting some of just her, with her big sister, and her parents.

Our friend, and photographer Danika of Danika Lee Photography, came over on a Saturday morning . She is also the one who did our maternity photos. We presented her with the challenge of doing her first ever newborn photos. We may have sparked some intrigue in her to learn more about taking newborn photos too. I mean, how can you not love getting to spend a lot of time around little ones?

Addie was 9 days old when these photos were taken, and just like her big sister she was not wanting to sleep during the photos. We got a few moments, but she never was the sleepy newborn like others are, even with our trying to keep her up for a long time before photos. She was interested in checking out what was going on, while we all melted in the heat of our home (we had the heat cranked up full to try and keep her asleep). 

We absolutely adore the moments Danika captured. Prepare for cuteness overload. Now I have to figure out which I am going to print. I’m pretty sure I will be making a book with all of the photos. I am so thankful for this little moment in time that we had photographed so that we can always remember just how little Addie was.
