I had heard wonderful things about Aden + Anais swaddles. They came highly recommended by many of my fellow mom’s as a must have item. We made sure to have a couple of them for when my daughter was born. They were great for swaddling her, wonderful to set on the ground in the spring as a place for her to sit, and and a life saver when more shade was needed when in the stroller. My favourite thing about Aden + Anais swaddles was how soft they were. What about if you need something that is a little bit thicker, and maybe a bit bigger? That is where the dream blanket comes in handy, especially with the weather we currently have that keeps going from sunny one day to gloomy and rainy the next.
I was over the moon excited when Aden + Anais sent me one of their dream blankets to try with my daughter. If you have one of the swaddles, picture the softness of those but multiplied many times over. You can feel just how lovely the blanket is before you even take it out of the box.
There are several choices when it comes to the dream blanket: Classic, Bamboo, and Organic. Each version has several print options, so you are sure to find something that is just right for your little one. I fell in love with the for the birds – medallion classic.
In our home we are currently sporting layers as the weather and temperature changes, both inside and out. We also tend to keep the temperature lower in our home which means blankets are a quick and easy way to provide an extra layer where needed. To keep our daughter safe and secure in her car seat we do not put her in with a thick coat on, instead we bring a blanket with us to put over top of her. If we are out for a walk and its a bit cool out, this blanket has proven perfect to tuck in and around our daughter when in the stroller. It has even served its duty as a place to sit when at the park. My favourite place for this blanket though is keeping it on the rocking chair in our daughter’s room where we can use it during cuddle time while reading a book, or while she finishes her bottle before bed time.
As with our swaddles, I love that the dream blanket has become softer after each wash. Muslin is a very soft and durable fabric. The dream blankets are made with 4 layers of cotton muslin. I know that this blanket is going to stand the test of time, and a whole lot of love from one little girl.
My daughter became very accustomed to having this blanket around, and it became a quick favourite for both of us. At bed time she would point to it and sign please letting me know that she wanted to be wrapped up in it while we cuddled during her bottle before bedtime, or while reading a book. She was even found pulling it around with her through the house. It is also a great size for when building indoor forts on rainy days. now really want one of these for myself, and I am so glad that Aden + Anais has a version for adults too because it has been added to my wish list.
I found this blanket to be the ideal size at 47″ x 47″. It covers both my toddler and I nicely when sitting together. It is the perfect size, and still has room for my daughter to grow and still be covered. It also folds up, so it is easy to have over my daughter when she is in the car seat or stroller and it is not bulky. Since there is still plenty of room left for her to grow and be covered, I have a feeling this blanket will become the one she uses when we transfer her to a toddler bed in the future.
My only regret about this blanket… I wish I had one of these for when she was first born!
