Yesterday Everly turned 1. She had her one year check up at the doctor’s on Christmas Eve. She is now 31 inches tall (thats 11 inches since she was born, and she is in the 90th percentile) and is 22lbs (which is 50th percentile). I don’t fully get what all the percentile stuff is about, but was just told by the doctor and many of my mommy friend’s that you just need to see your child growing in a steady curve. Which Everly has been doing. I can understand the height one, as finding pants that fit her is difficult.
Age: One
Stats: 31 inches, 22 lbs, need to check her head circumference (*note to self*)
Favorite Foods: quiche, carrots, peas, spanakopita, apple chunks, rice crackers
Favorite Words: Mamma, Dadda, oh, wow
Favorite Toy: Any Fisher-Price Little People play set, and Olaf (her stuffed snowman from the movie Frozen)
Favorite Activities: going for stroller rides or playing outside, imitating what we do and mimicking what we say, building towers with Mommy and Daddy, dancing to music
Least Favorite Activities: Getting toweled off after bath time, she is not a big fan of having her teeth brushed right now (unless we face her in the mirror), back to disliking being put in the car seat (but fine once she is buckled in)
Nicknames: Lovie, Ev, Evie, Evers, Goober, Goobs, Princess
Typically Her: She has her own little dance style, its so cute watching her sway back and forth and bounce up and down. She can do more squats in a row than any adult I know. Her laugh is very distinctive, and we’ll do whatever we can to get a great giggle out of her.

Highlights of her first year: Going to Anvil with her. Anvil is very special to us, and a huge part of our summer. It was an incredible experience bringing her there at such a young age. All of her firsts… rolling, crawling, steps, words. I am so thankful that I was home when all of these moments happened, so was her Daddy.
