Since before my daughter was born I have been following Bamboletta Dolls on all of their social media feeds. A friend of mine introduced me to these stunning, handmade dolls and I couldn’t help but fall in love with them. You can tell right away that a lot of heart goes into these sweet dolls. Follow Bamboletta on Instagram or Facebook and you will soon see what I mean.
Christina is the founder behind Bamboletta, and she started handcrafting these back in 2002. She and her husband have a strong desire to keep these dolls as being made local. The shop is located in Duncan, BC. If you are ever in the area look them up, and pop in to say hi. You will fall in love with all the dolls, and the red paint on the door and window frames. Some of the work in creating each doll is done in the studio, and some parts of the work is done in home by the “sewing mama’s” behind Bamboletta. Each doll is made out of the highest quality materials: everything from the wool stuffing, to the natural fiber hair, and the designer quality cotton used on the dolls. You can tell that nothing is missed on the design and incredible quality of these dolls. Each doll takes between 7 to 12 hours to make. The dolls remind me of the items that were handmade with love years ago, and you often find these gems in antique stores and they still look incredible because such care went into making them. I know that these dolls will remain looking their best for a long time. What if a stitch pops, or a doll tragedy happens don’t worry. Get in touch with Bamboletta and they will do everything they can to repair the doll. She cares that much about each and every one of the creations that leave Bamboletta to offer a dolly hospital if needed. If you are wondering how exactly each doll is made you can check out it out here or watch this amazing video where you get to see exactly what goes into making these little cuties.
When the box arrived to my home with sweet Clementine and Pippi inside, my daughter’s face just lit up when she opened it. She right away started pointing out the eyes and nose on each doll. She started playing with the hair, and asking me to style it in different ways for her. I instantly knew how special this doll became to her, it was an instant connection. She is her new little buddy. I adore the fact that because these dolls are handmade, they truly are unique. No two dolls will ever be exactly the same. The head shape and size may be a little different, and even the eyes and hair will be different. Oh and the cute part, these one’s each have a little pair of underwear. This made my daughter’s day because she is all about potty-training and things connected to that, and being a big girl. “Big girl panties!” she proclaimed when she made this discovery.
Now my daughter has adopted Clementine as her own, but Pippi needs a home to call her own. If you would like to have Pippi, a lovely cuddle doll with green eyes become the special doll for a sweet kiddo you know. Enter the giveaway that Christina of Bamboletta has kindly made happen for all Discovering Parenthood readers. This is open to residents of Canada and the USA. I just want to see this little lady find a home in a child’s arms where she will become a special companion in a child’s life. Good luck everyone! This doll is going to make a kiddo very happy.

All dolls made with love are treasures! The doll would be perfect for a special little one who had to be airlifted to a NICU shortly after birth. This little one has been through so much, the challenges ahead would be a lot easier with a special little doll to cuddle and love.

I don’t know that I could pick one thing I love most about these dolls. Beautifully hand-crafted, their little belly buttons, their hand stitched eyes and mouth make them look alive. Each one is so unique. I love that they are original. I would give this doll to my niece Maelee on her birthday so she could have a forever friend. I saved for months to get my daughter one and would love nothing more than her cousin to have a sweet Bamboletta also, so they can play with their new dolly friends together.
