We went out for some beach day fun with Tairalyn and her daughter Sofia (from Little Miss Mama). It was last minute, planned by checking the tides to make sure the girls could run and play, and it was so much fun.
While the parking machine may have ate my change to pay for parking, nothing else went wrong. Both girls were a little sleepy so we started with a walk down the pier to the end, pushing them in their strollers. The girls got more into things once they noticed the boats and the birds. We got to see a short train pass us. The train whistle got Evie’s attention right away.
We claimed a little spot on the beach, and set up camp with our blankets. The Evie and Sofia wanted to go venture off right away, so after a quick sunscreen application top up. We headed to the sand and water. Definitely check when the tide is high or low. When it’s low tide at White Rock you can wander all over the exposed ocean bed, and there is lots for the kids to discover.
The girls pointed out fish, crabs, and lots of shells. We came home with a few pretty shells that were collected along the way. I really need to get Evie a sand bucket so that when we do things like this we have a place to put her keepsakes when coming home. Both girls were braver than Tairalyn and I, where there were tide pools they would walk right through, while we hoped over them. Eventually our girls enthusiasm caught on to us too and we were all trudging around in the water.
Soon it was time to go home. Evie crashed in the car, a sign that she had a lot of fun. I’m looking forward to many more beach adventures soon.

We love the beach too! My son can play in the sand for hours. He also loves the water! Though, next year it’ll be a little tough when he starts walking.

So cute! Did they have a chance to try to climb the white rock? Ishaan loves to climb up the logs propped there…a bit to young to actually get up there but he has such fun trying!
