ELATE COSMETICS

Have you ever looked into what is inside the beauty products you use? It’s something I’ve just recently started researching into and it made me want to find a clean, eco-beauty product line that I loved. I wanted something that was beautiful and good for my skin. My friend Shannon, introduced me to Elate Cosmetics almost a year ago. We recently met up to have some fun doing our makeup and taking photos so that we could share all about Elate with you.
To be honest I’ve been a bit hesitant to change up my makeup regime. I guess you could say I was stubborn and wanted to stick to what I knew. I had my go-to items that I always used and knew worked for me. Was there a better option out there? Enter Elate, which provides cosmetics that are ethically made and toxin-free.
My older sister and Shannon were who really give me the kick I needed to think about what I was putting on my skin every day and to consider something else. Elate hosted a pop-up shop in Vancouver back at the start of the year, this was when I was first introduced to what Elate had to offer and I loved it! I had a mini-makeover and was so pleased.
I have started replacing all, yes all, of my makeup. It’s a bit of a process because it is an investment so I am slowly going about it, but it’s so worth it. I’ve actually noticed an improvement in my skin since switching. It makes sense since I am no longer applying products to my skin that contain toxins. Cosmetics that are purchased at drugstores and even at big brand companies can contain very harmful chemicals such as carcinogens, pesticides, reproductive toxins, hormone disruptors and more.
The cosmetics are fantastic. I found everything to be high-quality. The eyeshadows I have are filled with pigment and blend incredibly. The foundation has great coverage and the crème revealer has been so helpful hiding my dark under eyes thanks to the lack of sleep I’ve been having lately.
One of my favourite features about Elate is that a lot of thought and attention has also gone into the packaging. The pressed powder I ordered arrived in wildflower seed paper. There are instructions telling you how to go about planting the package to allow wildflowers to grow. Plus, a lot of the other packaging is made from bamboo which is a sustainable product.
On to the fun part… me without makeup! It’s a rare sight, a side of me I am trying to show more often. Enjoy our Elate cosmetics adventure. Thank you so much Shannon (and Shannon’s hubby) for taking photos. Be sure to read to the end, Elate has very kindly provided a giveaway!

Both of you look beautiful. What is really great is that the makeup is no toxin which can be hard to find. Some say theirs isn’t but have to do your research.

Probably the concealer. I’m always on the hunt for a good one and used to use Beka an Aussie brand that sounds a lot like elate. But they’re hard to find now.

First off, you look amazing sans makeup. However, I do LOVE your holiday look with the bright lips 🙂 I’m also slowly replacing all of my makeup with more skin friendly versions (which is tough because I love my go-to brands) and am always looking for recommendations! I will have to see if this brand is sold in Canada!
