We have a blueberry monster in the house! This little girl absolutely loves them. Sure she loves food, but there is just something about these little, indigo-coloured berries that she just adores.
We started Addie on solids around 5 months because she was so interested in food, and she has been an incredible eater since then. I am so glad that we have gone more of a baby led weaning method, very similar to what we did with Evie, but it does not seem like Addie is a picky eater at all.
If she sees you have food, she will change her direction to come and investigate and motion that she wants to try some. If you are helping her eat something and she wants more her little feet start to twirl. If you are not fast enough in refilling her mouth, or her tray runs empty while she is feeding herself you will know she is not happy because it’s the one time she really cries.
The other day at dinner time we put some blueberries onto her tray with other items (carrots, chicken, peas) and she downed every last berry in minutes. Sure she was turned into a massive purple mess, but we knew she was happy. I was thankful we made the decision to have her eat in a diaper that meal. We ended up having to give her an emergency bath right after dinner. I am pleased to report that the purple colour washed off very easily.
We will definitely be going to pick up more local, fresh blueberries very soon. What is something else I should try making for the girls with them? I am thinking muffins, or scones. Anyone have a great recipe?

Oh my goodness, these are the BEST photos! Adorable! My kids have gone through (and still do go through) their picky eater phases, but blueberries have always been a constant fave. We make these dairy-free blueberries a lot in our house: http://www.urbanblisslife.com/2015/06/19/best-lemon-blueberry-muffins/. We also make smoothies regularly with all of the different berries we pick.
