Sure it may be nearing the end of summer, but your skin should still be something you think about and protect daily. As someone who easily burns I am always trying the next thing out there to see how it works for my skin when it comes to sun protection. I was contacted by Cloud Vitamin Cream to see if I wanted to try their Cloud Vitamin A Cream. They provided me with a sample in order to try out this product, and share with you my thoughts.
A few years ago I had the opportunity to have my photo taken with a UV camera. This type of photography shows the sun damage that has been done to your skin. On the left is how my skin appears to the eye, and on the right is how my skin appears thanks to the UV camera. As someone who uses sunscreen on a regular basis I am still susceptible to skin damage caused by the sun. Are you someone who uses sunscreen, or at the least skin products with some sunscreen protection on a regular basis? What would your skin look like in a UV camera photo?
Cloud Vitamin A with Retinyl Palmitate is promoting itself to be the first consumer suncreen to block out the full spectrum of the suns rays. It also says that is will help combat and prevent the signs of aging. Makes sense to me. Guard your skin against the suns damage, and you are already helping to prevent it from aging too soon. It has the equivalent of SPF 23, so if you are like me and are a bit more prone to burns you use this first and then apply your regular sunscreen. For me it’s just another step to prevent a burn, while I can understand for some they may consider this a nuisance. It’s worth it when it comes to protecting your skin, especially with the risk of skin cancer.
It did take some getting used to when it comes to applying. You are supposed to apply it to wet skin. I’d recommend applying Cloud Vitamin A Cream after a shower in the morning. If you know you are not going outside til later in the day, splash your face with some water and then apply. You can also use this product all over, I stuck to the areas where I knew I usual risk a burn when in the sun. My face, chest, arms, and tops of my feet. It does feel very thick, but it blends in very nicely. There are no artificial scents, but it does have that sort of medical product type of subtle scent to it. I personally prefer this over a very fake, chemical made smell. I also really like that the product comes with a pump to easily dispense the cream. The bad news though is the cost for this product. The 30mL tube will set you back $48. Ouch! I understand that this product may be considered a more elite skin care product, but with being used to the $6-$12 price range for regular sunscreen this price hurts the piggy bank. I find myself very thankful that I still have lots left in my sample, as I will probably be waiting for the price to go down before I purchase this for myself. Please Cloud Vitamin Cream, please bring down the price!
That being said, after having used this product for over a month I do like how my skin looks and feels. Normally I find my skin to be very dry and struggling to recover after the damage from the sun from the summers intense rays. This time my skin has remained nice, and soft.
If you are like me, and love trying different beauty products, and would love to have the chance to try this. Now is your opportunity. Cloud Vitamin Cream has very kindly offered the opportunity for 3, yes 3, Discovering Parenthood readers to win a full sized Cloud Vitamin A Cream and a Cloud beach mat. Anyone going away some place warm this fall or winter? Enter, and give this product a try. If you win you’ll have to let me know your thoughts too! {Open to residents of Canada}

My mom has had several precancerous freckles removed from her face, and my skin is just like hers. I’m hoping to protect mine from the same fate!

I neglect my face and have committed to taking care of it, especially in the sun! I buy organic mineral sunscreen for my son and it has a similar price. I think when it comes to quality you just have to pay a little more sometimes!

I really need a good product to use on my face. My skin has changed and the one I usually use is not working for me.

I am more of the ‘oh, I should try to remember to use stuff more often’. I remember more for my daughter, but sometimes I find it’s also tough b/c you need the vitamin D from the sun, especially in Canada, but not too much, in case you damage your skin.

I’m really interested in this product. My sister just recovered from Melanoma and my aunt a few years before that so protecting my skin is really important to me. I’ve never heard of this brand before but I am curious now.
