HAVE YOU HEARD ABOUT BLUEY?
It is no secret that we are huge fans of Bluey in our family. We’ve even recently had a Bluey themed birthday party. Just in case you have yet to watch Bluey it is about Bluey, a 6-year-old Blue Heeler pup who loves to play. Her parents encourage and take part in the imaginative games Bluey comes up with. Sometimes it leaves you wondering just how exactly they know what their kids are up to and how do they so easily join in. Bluey lives with her mom, Chilli, Dad, Bandit, and little sister Bingo in Australia.
You can watch Bluey if you’re in Canada on Disney Junior, Disney Channel, Disney+, and YouTube. We love that the focus is on family and imaginative play. Be prepared though, this show isn’t just for kids. We’re pretty certain it’s a show for parents that kids just so happen to enjoy too. Be prepared to laugh and cry depending on the episode you are watching
CONTINUING THE ADVENTURES
Our kids are loving all the different toys available that go with the Bluey show. They love that so many different characters are available and different sets. This allows them to be able to continue the adventures that they have seen in the show or create their own.
This summer we had our annual camping trip which of course became a part of their Bluey adventures. Driving to where we were camping our kids were quick to point out all of the “grey nomad convoys” they saw on the road. This is a nod to the season 2s episode called “Road Trip”. There is also an episode called “Camping” and this is the episode that introduces a blue-ish black French-Canadian labrador named Jean-Luc.
Jean-Luc actually comes as a little figuring with the caravan toy for Bluey. You can find this on its own, or get the caravan with the family vehicle if you don’t have that already. Our kids love that this is a toy that mimics real life. Their summer camping trip adventure has now carried over to their imaginative play with this play set. The caravan itself allows the side to flip open so kids can play with the characters inside the vehicle using the bunk beds, kitchen, and dining area.
I love that the set came with 2 characters, and accessories like the table and benches plus a fire pit and marshmallow on a stick. The highlight though just might be the stickers that also come with it that allow the whole vehicle to be made to look more personal. There are stickers of the character’s stuffies and even gnomes to place all about.
SO MANY OPTIONS
Recently a pack of Bluey’s friends joined the adventures in our house. They are perfect little replicas of the friends on the show. We now have Coco, Snickers, and Honey. Honestly, how adorable is each of them? You can find so many other additional play sets and figurine sets. They are all the perfect size to even pop into a backpack to take along if you’re going to a restaurant or to visit family and want to bring some toys for your kiddo to play with.
ALL THE PLUSHIES
Plushies are always loved in our house. The Bluey ones have been claimed by our toddler. She now has the jumbo Bluey and Bingo, as well as a small Princess Bluey. You’ll find these often travel all throughout the house. Each one has even come for car rides and through the store. They are well built and have been holding up great to the love shown them by a two-year-old. I appreciate the details put into them making them look like the characters, but also the proportions. Bingo isn’t larger than big sister Bluey. This gives way to being just right for recreating even more Bluey adventures in our house.

My kids are too old for Bluey but I love seeing these toys. The Bluey sets are so cute. I bet many little ones will have these sets on their Christmas lists!
