INSPIRING CREATIVITY THIS SPRING BREAK
Spring Break is coming quickly for those of us with kids in school. With it comes vacations, staycations, road trips, rainy days, and everyday boredom. Lets also not forget the battle of screen time. While the kids may want an ample amount of it, it’s so much fun seeing their creativity run wild when they are playing instead. I recently added some things to our creativity collection for the girls to hopefully combat all of the above.
IN THE OCEAN: MY NATURE STICKER ACTIVITY BOOK
If you’ve followed our family adventures for some time, it’s no surprise that the girls love the ocean and all the animals within it. As soon as I heard about this sticker activity book I knew it was going to be a hit. The biggest problem so far, I need to get a second so they do not fight over it. Oops, mom fail!
Each page of the book is covered in fantastic digital illustrations. There is information about what is shown on the page and directions for what stickers are to be added. This provides a great opportunity to read with your child and learn together. The stickers for each page are in the very middle of the book, we found it easiest to actually pull this out by unfolding the staples and folding them back down. This way, my kindergartener has been able to find the stickers she needs and peel them off on her own.
Kids who love to learn, colouring, stickers, and are fans of the ocean will love this book! It’s just the right size to even keep a child entertained in the car. Bring on the road trips this Spring Break!
ALPHA SHAPES
For kids who love to create, working on learning their letters, or who even just love to build towers, this unique take on alphabet blocks is incredible. My girls were both instantly drawn to the bright colours inside the box. My oldest is currently working on letter recognition and sounds. Using Alpha Shapes has proven to be a fun and unique way to help her work on mastering these skills.
My biggest tip for you, take a photo of the shapes in the box before you let them take everything out! This helped us get all the shapes back in without jamming the box or getting frustrated. Inside of the box is an alphabet key to give you and your child an idea of how to make each letter of the alphabet. Let them take it from there and see how they can make letters on their own.
There are 39 blocks in total that will help kids and adults have some fun with spelling words, names, and so much more!
