We have been praying for rain here in what’s normally known as “Raincouver”. We’ve been in a drought for some time now, with it being predicted in the weather forecast that there would be no rain til mid August. Yesterday it was announced as everywhere being in Stage 3 water restrictions, which means a while lot of no, don’t do that when it comes to water anything. While it may not have been long lasting, this morning it started to rain. It poured for a bit!
I was downstairs with Evie already having our breakfast, and Jason must have heard it at the same time because all of a sudden there were loud proclamations of “ITS RAINING!!!!” were we ever thankful for the rain. I asked Evie right away if she wanted to go play in the rain so we grabbed her swimsuit and put her into her rain boots and out we went to play, and splash in the puddles. Sadly the major rainfall did not last long, but it was something.
This morning was also a good reminder to do random, spontaneous things, like dance in the rain. These little moments will be remembered by us all. Here’s to having more spontaneous, unplanned fun!

we never got any rain!!! I wish we did! Looks like it might today though! Perhaps we’ll have to do a little dancing ourselves 🙂

So cute. We nicely watched the rain from our front window. Too bad it didn’t last longer. I’m loving this cooler weather though!

So fun! I need to have more spontaneous fun with my kids. I try, but it’s hard with 4 kids. Thanks for the reminder that fun doesn’t always need to be planned in advance!

How cute! It’s funny how sometimes being without something for a while (like rain) can make us more thankful when we get it. And I can see you did more than be thankful … clearly, you enjoyed it!

You’re the second mommy blogger I know to post pictures about your little one dancing in the rain! 🙂 It makes for such cute photographs, and great memories!

I came home from Calgary (just last night) to this water restriction! What do you think about the water restriction in light of the wild fires that covered Vancouver in smoke ?!
