PIGEON. IF YOU KNOW. YOU KNOW.
We had a date night. A much-needed date night. Why is it that once you have kids date nights just cease to exist? Sure life gets busy with needing to take care of them, but why does one’s relations with their significant other get put on the back burner?
We’re continuing to date in our marriage.
We are so thankful to have people in our lives that we trust to watch our girls so that my husband and I can go out together. Yes, it can be very hard to find a babysitter. Often we feel guilty for even asking. But, again I say… date nights are needed!
Having time out and about, just the two of us is so important. It means we get to continue to build and strengthen our relationship. Minus interruptions and repetitive questions from little ones. Plus, we actually get to eat our meals and drink coffee while it is hot. When was the last time you had coffee while it was still hot and not forgotten in the microwave?
YOU ARE THE FUN IN MY LIFE
While none of these photos and even this little blurb may be of any interest to anyone else. It’s a day that I want to always remember. Time spent with my husband, just the two of us. We went to downtown Vancouver to drop off our wedding bands and have then resized. Grab some dinner and go to a concert.
Rend Collective is one of our favourite bands. Even our kids love them, plus they released a kid’s album this summer. It’s not your usual annoying kid’s music either, its music we all enjoy and will happily turn up louder.
When we bought our tickets we decided to get the Full Irish Experience and get tickets that allowed us early access into the venue, plus a meet and greet with the band. This meant we got to pick our seats right away and claim them with our coats and actually meet the band. Rend Collective also had a little Q+A and shared some new music with everyone who took part in that experience.
The whole evening was so much fun and left us wishing we had brought the girls, though we know in reality it would have been much too late of a night for them. We also really want to go to Ireland. Which is a major bucket list destination for us.
How often do you have a date night out with your other half?
