We have started a bit of a tradition to have a special family movie night. Evie gets to pick a movie, or sometimes she just picks a show she likes, and we sit down as a family to watch it together. I am hoping that this will be something we continue to do for a long time. I have many memories of special movie nights where my family would all pile onto the couch and watch a movie together and of course there always was a special snack for us to enjoy during the movie.
Evie is a “popcorn” monster as we kindly call her. It is the cutest thing to see her use sign language and say “popcorn” to request this snack. One way we made movie night extra special recently was by getting some popcorn from Kernels.
There are many flavours to choose from of, and it is all popped on location. The popcorn is either air popped, or in sunflower oil. Kernels also have deals where if you buy a medium or a large bag of popcorn, you can get a second for half price. Always nice to be able to get a deal on a special treat!
On our recent trip to the mall we stopped at Kernels and picked out our favourite flavours. We went with Jalapeno Jack, a nice spicy flavor, and Creamy Caramel, which is just as the name says a nice caramel covered popcorn. I actually love to mix these two into one bowl, you get a great sweet and spicy combination. For the first time Evie got to have one of the little kids pails that are available. The pails have different recognizable children’s characters on them, and the best part is next time you go to Kernels if you bring the bucket with you its half price to fill it again. We had her little popcorn pail filled with Super Kid, which is a colourful mix of blue raspberry, banana, and cotton candy flavor.
Kernels Popcorn is a great way to add something extra fun and special to family movie night. You can pick the flavor you would like, bring it home, and enjoy during your movie. If you would rather pop your own popcorn at home there are even several seasoning jars you can pick from. This is a great option if you just want a subtle hint of flavour, or if you want to come up with your own unique combo for a popcorn flavour. Try mixing the Sassy Salt & Vinegar with some Mmmm… White Cheddar. You are sure to find something you love at Kernels.

The kids like the cheddar the most. All 5 of my kids are popcorn lovers, as are my husband and myself. I love the caramel the best myself.
I think it may be safe to say that the majority of people like popcorn. My husband got me to like caramel, I was always a cheddar fan.
