When did this happen? Can someone please tell me when I blinked, and suddenly had a preschooler? Time truly does fly when you have children. I cannot believe that our daughter will be heading to her first day of preschool today. She has been so excited since we went for our orientation day back in May. Asking constantly when she will be getting to go. Today is the day.
I am so thankful for friends of ours with children, who have already done this ahead of us. They have been a great source of knowledge and encouragement. Even reminding us way back in January when registration day was to make sure we got our daughter signed up. If it wasn’t for them, I’d probably be an absolute mess about today, and we probably would have missed the opportunity to get our daughter registered for this year.
This morning I am a bit sad though, not because she is going to preschool and seems far too grown up for my liking, but because I will be missing it. I have to go to work. You better believe my husband is under strict orders to take lots of photos, and make the day special for her. Starting with a nice breakfast, and lots of cuddles. Daddy gets the honour of dropping off his little girl to her first day of preschool. There is something truly special about that.
While my daughter is at preschool I can only hope and pray about how it will go. I hope she makes new friendships while there, and that her teachers are incredible. I hope to find out that she is trying new things, and learning lots. This month is all about the colour red, and apples. How perfect since we just went to the apple farm. I hope to see her grow in develop in so many ways. I cannot wait to hear all about her days at preschool, and what she did. She so needs this, I know it will challenge her in some ways, but will be great since so much is focused around play. This little girl loves a good sing-a-long to music, and books with music.
I feel like she has suddenly grown up over night. Where did my little, baby girl go? She was once so tiny at just 7lbs 7ounces, and 20inches long. Now she is 27lbs, and almost 3 feet tall. She is growing up, and there is truly nothing I can do but sit back and be amazed at the incredible young girl she is. Our spunky little red head. She loves all animals, has a wild imagination, stubbornness just like mommy, piercing green eyes like daddy, and a huge heart full of love. She is going to thrive at preschool, we know she will.

She is adorable. I hope she has a great year at preschool. I just sent my oldest to kindergarten, and we’re all still adjusting.

I am going through exactly the same thing. It goes so fast you blink and they are ready for preschool. I am terrified to blink again, she will be heading off to elementary and just so big. Great post. Your daughter is SO cute, I love her top!
