This weekend we finally had the opportunity after church and nap time to load up the car and head to the beach to enjoy some fun in the Summer sun. Evie had been asking for some time to go to the ocean and dig in the sand, Addie just goes with the flow of whatever we do. We put the idea out there to the rest of Tamara’s family that we should go to White Rock and have fish + chips for dinner. To the beach we all went!
SALTY AIR, SUN KISSED HAIR
Some how we managed to score parking right along the White Rock promenade despite it being a very busy Sunday afternoon. The rest of our family also found parking in different spots, but we all found something that wasn’t too long of a walking distance from where we wanted to be. Plus we wanted to be within walking distance of Moby Dick Restaurant. We claimed a little spot on the grass to set up our sun tent that was also beside a picnic table for us to eat dinner at.
Moby Dick is our go to for fish + chips when in White Rock. When you order fish + chips you get an extra piece, so as a family of 4 we only need to order the three piece option because we get a fourth piece of fish included. It’s great. There is also just something about eating fish + chips beside the ocean, it just tastes so good. Just be sure to bring wipes for your fingers after, we found it easier to eat with our fingers.
DREAMS ARE MADE OF SAND AND SUN
We’re pretty sure the girls went to bed dreaming about playing at the beach and in the ocean, both of the girls went to sleep easily for the first time in awhile. What is it about having lots of fresh ocean air that does that? Add in all the splashing and playing, that may have helped a lot too.
Outings like this we’re thankful to have more eyes on both of the girls because Addie was constantly on the go. At one point she headed to the main stretch of ocean and charged into it like it was no big deal, don’t worry, her Aunty was right behind her. It was the cutest thing to see Addie just take off for the ocean. If she had the words to express herself surely we would have heard her telling us how much she loved feeling free and running in the little pools of water. Evie was much more calm, but you could see the joy in both of their eyes as they were free to run and explore in the Summer sun.

Yeah, we have to tell people about the fish n chips at Moby’s too. If you order 2 or 3 or 4 pieces you always get 1 more piece. When I asked it was due to the way they cut the fish into portions. Our favorite place to get fish n chips though. We usually order ahead to avoid the LONG lines they can have!
