It’s Thanksgiving weekend here for all us Canadians. Fall brings about my favourite holidays… Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years. So you can only imagine how excited I am that today my family is having their annual Thanksgiving picnic.
I wanted to share with all of you my super easy to make ginger cranberry sauce. I started making it when Jason and I started dating and he joined us on our picnics. You can do this recipe a couple ways: from scratch, from can, or a combination there of.
Here is my very simple version if you find yourself in a rush this Thanksgiving weekend but you want something different to try, all you need is 4 ingredients. I warn you though you will be requested to bring it every Thanksgiving and Christmas here on out.
Ginger Cranberry Sauce
Ingredients:
1 can of cranberry sauce (jellied or with whole berried which ever you prefer)
1 can of halved pears
1/4 tsp of cinnamon
1/4 tsp of ground ginger
Directions:
– Open and drain the can of pears. Dice the pears into small cubes and put them into a medium sized mixing bowl.
– Open the can of cranberry sauce and add it into the mixing bowl.
– Sprinkle with the cinnamon and ground ginger over top.
– Mix is all up and pour into your favourite serving dish.
– Enjoy!
See! Super easy to make and it is so yummy with all the fixings of Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner. Please let me know if you try it, and what you think.
Hope you all are having a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend.
