I’m pretty sure my friend Tairalyn has radar for when a girls night is needed. She came up with the brilliant idea of doing a private event, for just us girls, after we had a lot of fun the month before with all our kiddos when they got to make their own art. It was time for our turn to get creative. 4 Cats Art Studio hosted all of us again. This time we were doing paintings inspired by Van Gogh’s Starry Night.
We met at the art studio after all our kids were tucked in bed, or soon to be tucked in for the night. We had all our favourite snacks in tow, and Tairalyn brought many options of tea for us to enjoy. Tea, popcorn, and painting… I was a happy girl! The ladies at 4 Cats educated us in the life and art of Van Gogh, even providing an example of how he would load up all his stuff and trudge off to go paint. Then it was time to get to work. We were taking through what we needed to do step by step. I felt so relaxed getting to paint again. Painting, and art in generally really is my happy place. We were encouraged to be creative if we wanted, so Andria and I decided that something pink was what we needed for both of our girls rooms. I’m planning to put my finished piece in Evie’s big girl room once we get it all set up. I’m hoping she will have a little reading corner that I can hang some art on the wall nearby. You can see all of our finished pieces in the last photo.
I always enjoy getting to hang out with all of these amazing ladies… when is the next girls night out? Have you ever done a creative night out with all of your friends? Highly recommend it if you have not!

Your paintings look great! Love this idea for a girls night out. Sounds relaxing and fun all at once. Going to have to look for something like this in my area.

I’ve done this once and it was such a fun night. My favorite part is seeing how different everyone’s pictures can turn out even though they have the same general idea. Glad the girls night out was a good time!

How fun! Ive done 1 professionally organized one and Ive had 2 at my place. If you ever do one at your place, Michaels is great for supplies, and you can use coupons to get a great deal. Id supply the paints/canvases and my friends would all bring a wine/snack pairing and it would be a super fun night.

Those paint and wine studios are a ton of fun. I also have a Starry Night painting 🙂 So cool that some of you got to pick out a different color palette.
