Providing opportunities for children to have creative play is so wonderful. One thing we have definitely noticed in our daughter is how wild her imagination already is. Sometimes I am baffled by what she comes up with, but I love it that she has no problem using her imagination already. Her dolls and cars are always off on some sort of adventure.
She is just beginning to get into costumes everything from princesses, and fairies, to different animals. My favourite right now is the Ladybug toddler cape from Great Pretenders. The great thing about the cape is that it can fit various sizes of children. so long as the hood, and neck strap fit, your child is good to go. I know this will be getting lots of us as my daughter grows up. She has run around lots wearing it, flapping her arms and pretending to fly. My favourite was when we took her outside to play while wearing the costume. Her imagination ran wild.
The cape is well constructed. It has a black hood with two little antennae on top, then the cape itself is a gorgeous red with giant black spots. To hold it closed is a little strap with velcro that goes under the chin, and across the front of the neck. The velcro is nice and sturdy. The part many moms love… it is machine washable! Yes! So if your child wears it outside while playing and it gets covered in mud, you can put it in the wash.
Great Pretenders has very kindly offered to do a giveaway for all Discovering Parenthood readers. One of you will win a costume of your choice! This giveaway is open to residents of Canada and the USA. Enter for your own kids, enter for nieces, nephews, enter for your friend’s kiddos. Just be sure to enter. Please share this giveaway with those you know who would love to win too. Good luck everyone.

There are soooo many to choose from I can’t pick! My daughter is really into pirates and my little man is really into spider man! It would be awesome to get either child something to add to their tickle trunk!

I would have to double check with my daughter, but I’m pretty sure she would like the Musketeer Dress and mask, or the Medieval Queen Gown, or the Renaissance Gown. We are very big into Princesses these days 🙂

Imagination I find to be so important. There is only a few years when there small that imagination is everything to them.. I love my business of creating imagination for kids. More talk is need in the area of imagination and how healthy it is .
