We recently had the opportunity to try out two new products from The Gro Company, they are adding to their collection of products to help little ones sleep. We got to check out the Gro-hush, and the Gro-snug, both of which have become instant favourites!
The Gro-hush is a unique portable white noise baby calmer. It transmits soothing white noise directly to your baby so that only they can hear it, keeping them relaxed and happy. It is fantastic for use at home as part of your calming routine, or when out and about, or travelling.
It comes in a little box, and inside is the Gro-hush, its travel case, and the instructions. You need three AAA batteries for this to have power to work, and you’ll need a screwdriver to be able to open where the batteries go. It’s really easy to use, simply press the button for which white noise you would like to have playing. You can choose from heart beat, ocean waves, or rain falling. The Gro-hush comes with a 100% jersey cotton cover that you put on the outside of the white noise baby calmer. Slide your hand through the elastic on the back, and hold it near your little ones ear. It is not loud enough for you or anyone else in the room to hear since the Gro-hush has a pre-set volume that is perfect for little ears. It also turns off automatically after 10minutes.
The Gro-hush took a little bit of getting used to for our daughter. The first time we used it she was not a fan it seemed, and took a bit of time getting used to us holding something near her ear. Most recently we used it while at a family gathering. It was noisy from everyone watching a sporting event on TV, and our daughter desperately needed a nap. She has been teething, and not napping well. Thanks to this she was very tired, and getting grumpy. As soon as I turned it on and had it near her ear she calmed down and went to sleep! She also stayed asleep for a decent length nap during all the noise that was happening, because when it got too noisy I turned on the Gro-hush again.
I love how small the Gro-hush is making it easily transportable if going out somewhere. I can easily toss it in the diaper bag to bring with us, just in case our little one is fighting sleep and needs some white noise. I would love to see the option for it to play longer than 10 minutes as some little ones do take longer to settle. It has been a huge help to us on a several occasions now.
The Gro Company has done it again when it comes to sleep sacks for little ones. We LOVE the new Gro-snug. We love it so much that we are actually saddened by the fact that our youngest has almost out grown it to the point that I have already emailed The Gro Company to tell them that I would love to see this come in more sizes than what is currently available.
The Gro-snug is a 2-in-1 swaddle and Gro-bag for safe sleeps. It is the only bedding you will need for your newborn. The Gro-snug enables you to swaddle arms in, or out for a great night’s sleep. It is made to fit from newborn from 5lbs to 12lbs. The Gro-snug is available in two weights of fabric:
Cosy – for room temperatures between 16 – 20 Degrees Celcius
Light – for room temperatures between 21- 25 Degrees Celcius
The Gro-snug is a combination of a baby sleep bag, and a swaddle. The top portion fits nice and snug to keep a newborn from startling themselves awake, and it also helps them to feel nice and cozy when in it. The bottom portion has plenty of room for hip healthy natural leg position that newborns take. It is very easy to use, with a zipper that opens from the bottom for easy diaper changes in the middle of the night.
Our daughter is now 3 and a half months old, just over 13lbs and 25inches long and she still has a bit of room in the length to go before we transition her to a Gro-bag for sleeping in. We are currently working on her getting used to sleeping with her arms out which we can do with the Gro-snug thanks to the snaps at the top. You can transition slowly with one arm out at a time and help your little one work towards sleeping with both arms out. The fabric of the Gro-snug is nice and soft, and washes very well in the laundry. We highly recommend getting two of these so that you can toss one in the wash, and have another ready to go right away. We honestly cannot imagine what our nights would have been like without putting our daughter in this for bed time. It’s become part of her bedtime routine.
We are very thankful to provide Discovering Parenthood readers with the opportunity to win a Gro-snug! We are so excited for one of our readers to win this. Please scroll down to the rafflecopter below this photo to enter. Good luck to everyone who enters, I hope whoever wins gets a lot of use out of the Gro-snug and a good nights sleep. We know how crazy those first few months with a newborn can be. This giveaway is open to residents of Canada only.
