Last week I turned 30. Thirty! This isn’t going to be a very sentimental post or a reflection over the last 30 years. Instead, I just want to share a glimpse at what we got up to for my birthday.
A big highlight for me was that on my actual birthday there was snow! There has not been snow on my birthday since I was a little kid. My sister informed me that the news said it hadn’t happened since 1991.
To celebrate I went out for some pampering and had my makeup done in the morning. Jason took the girls over to my parents and also picked up a birthday cake for later in the evening.
Originally we had planned to go to Vancouver and explore for the day, but Jason is still recovering from surgery so plans changed and we went to a movie instead. Though date day to Vancouver will happen another time, once he’s feeling better. We went and saw Thor: Ragnarok.
After the movie, we had dinner at my parents. My mom made my favourite meal; salmon, corn, scalloped potatoes, and a few other things. My mom is one of the best cooks I know, it’s always a treat when she makes dinner.
There you have it, my 30th in a nutshell. Some of the kindergarten students at my school at my school asked how old I was turning. I told them they had to guess. According to the kindergarteners, I am 1103… I must say, I look pretty good for my age.
Here’s to being 30, it’s going to be great!
