It seems like out of no where Evie’s vocabulary had taken off. We have been reading her lots of books since she was a new born, and she seems to have a love for books and being read to. The past two weeks we have realized just how much she is paying attention and learning.
At Anvil it felt like every day she was picking up 2 or more new words. An example of a moment for when she was learning something new would be when Evie was walking with her Aunty at camp and she wanted up a tree. Evie had walked with her Aunty over to a tree, and her Aunt asked if she wanted to climb the tree. She picked her up and helped her “climb” the tree. She looked like Mowgali from The Jungle Book movie with her little bum sticking out. The second or third time of doing this in a row, she said the word climb and since then she has used the world “climb” in the right context.
Another little moment this week has had her start to count one and two along with me when we read our do certain things. We count the stairs as we go down, and she now counts along “one, two.” and if we are reading one of her books we can count things in sometimes she points and will say “one, two.” She has also learned the colors purple and blue.
It just amazes us how fast she is taking it all in now, and how suddenly there are so many words in her vocabulary. I’d be overwhelmed if I was her, maybe that explains the longer than usual naps she is having recently?
We love seeing you learn and grow little girl, you amaze us every day.
