At every meal, and before bedtime we pray. As a Christian family we pray often and Evie has seen us do this her whole life. When I pray with Evie, I also pray for her. For safety and protection from harm, that she will have a wonderful future. That she will fail and learn how to get back up and put her trust in God to continue to guide her. That she will have a compassionate heart for all those around her. That she will always be a friend to those who need a friend. To help her as she learns about everything around her from the beauty of God’s creation to simple more basic things like learning her numbers. That she will become an incredible woman of God.
When we pray with Evie at meal time we do keep it very simple, and short. Recently Evie has started to reach out for our hands at meal time, and then she will bow her little head and we will pray together. I look forward to her one day having more words to be able to take part, and give thanks. This has filled my heart with so much joy. We are told to have childlike faith, and her she is being an example of it beginning in her.
Do you pray together as a family?

I love this. How wonderful. We do a short prayer at mealtime and right before bed. If we forget at dinnertime, many times my daughter will jump in and say “God bless our food. ” Amen! Thanks for the reminder, baby.

Love this. We pray before meals and before bed. Patrick loves it. For a while he went through a phase of making sure everyone had their eyes closed so we could start praying. Haha. Now, while on holiday, he reminds us at every meal that we need to pray (even as guests in non-Christian homes).
