What is a mama to do when her preschooler has long legs, and no padding to hold up her pants? Enter Monkey & Peanut. This shop makes belts in Vancouver, BC that are perfect for keeping the pants of youngsters in place!
The problem I was dealing with for my oldest is that she is tall, and all her heigh is in her legs, but she is a skinny mini. While she fits in 2T pants, she needs the length of a 4T so we have to go up in pants sizes but then they are often falling off her. This happens even with the waist adjusters that are built into most kids jeans. The poor girl was often pulling her pants up, or even just walking around holding them in place. I felt so bad for her because she loves wearing jeans because she likes matching me, but she was never truly comfy in them.
Danielle Nott is the founder and creator behind Monkey & Peanut. She saw a need for a belt to help the pants of her daughter (Peanut) stay up over her diaper bottom, and rounded tummy. Danielle set out to design a tiny belt, and came up with amazing, gender-neutral printed belts.
I love that my daughter can go out and about, and play and she is not having to worry about her pants drooping. The belts are really simple to use just slide it through the belt loops, and then back through its D-rings. It does take a bit of practice for kids to figure out how to undo, and do up the belt on their own. We are still working on that. So be prepared to aid quickly if potty train is not a major thing of the past yet.
The belts are constructed with high quality canvas cotton, and the prints have all been designed by Monkey & Peanut. You are sure to find a print that is perfect for your child. The one thing I often look for in items that are going to be worn by my child… can I wash it easily?! The answer for these is yes! The belts are machine washable in a regular cycle, with cold water. Hang it to dry, and if you notice any wrinkles just iron them out on medium heat setting. There are also three different belt sizes S1 (0-24 months), S2 (2T-4T), and S3 (5-8years).
My daughter loves her belt, and loves that fact that she is a “big kid” when she wears one. She thinks it makes her more grown up because big kids wear belts. I am just thankful her pants stay up now!
