Spring is here, and with it comes the sunshine and wanting to be outside as much as possible. My daughters love being outside, and it does them so much good. Both of them sleep so much better after getting a lot of fresh air. What if they need a shady spot to escape the sun? A place to hide out in, relax, and let their imaginations run wild? We recently met Meghan the owner, and creator behind Woodland Wovens, and I got to see the beautiful teepees that she makes in person. I instantly fell in love with them, and she very kindly let me borrow one so that I could share about them with all of you. Would you believe that Woodland Wovens only launched a week ago?

Meghan started this adventure of creating teepees when she was expecting her second child. Her oldest was 19months at the time and she wanted her daughter to have a special place. She realized there was a need for teepees that were compliment the living space, and that were beautifully created with the fabrics used to make them. She also wanted one that had spacious enough that even an adult could fit inside. Meghan decided to create her own, and soon after started her business Woodland Wovens.
These teepees are much taller than any I have ever seen, and it is part of why I love them. My husband and I are both around 6′ tall, and anything like this has never been big enough for us to be able to sit in comfortably with our kids. This was not an issue with this. There is plenty of room! I was also amazed at how easy it was to set up on my own. It only took a few minutes to pull out the sides so that the teepee would stand on its own. With a little bit of adjusting it was all set and ready for play time.
My oldest was completely taken by it, she actually kept calling it her little house. I know I am going to have to get one of these for my girls. I can just picture us taking it with us to the beach, and using it in our yard all the time.
Each one is made bespoke, and is high quality. Since Meghan has a background in interior design, sewing, and textiles you know right away that a lot of time and attention goes into each one she makes. The materials that are used for these play teepees are environmentally friendly. Even the wood of the poles has been sourced from sustainable forests in North America.
