I was inspired yesterday by Tairalyn and the lunch box she brought filled with lots of fun food items for her daughter, when we went out to the mall yesterday. She had packed this awesome little lunch box full of great food options for her daughter. It turned a light bulb on for me that I should start doing the same thing. Tairalyn was kind enough to let Everly actually try a few things too. Everly had dried mango for the first time, sure she had to gum it to death, but she loved it. Thank you to Sofia for sharing! It melted my heart seeing her reach out to Everly to share her snacks, from one stroller to another. I hope Everly is that good about sharing when she gets older.
While bottles are still the majority of Everly’s meals, she does enjoy food. All things besides her bottles are really a bonus right now, but soon actual food items will be her main intake for the day. So now I find myself on the hunt for a good lunch box, and for snack ideas. I’ve been in a rut of just grabbing Mum-Mums for Everly… it’s time to step it up.
Do any other parents out there pack a lunch box for their children when they go out during the day? What sort of snacks or meals do you pack? Do you worry about keeping things cold?

Snacks in my repertoire:
Goldfish, raisins, granola bars, cheese (before he decided he didn’t like cheese), mandarin oranges, stoned wheat crackers, yogurt. Not much of a variety here either, but I know he likes these things (except cheese now 🙂 ).

I never leave my house without a bag full of snacks, even when we are going out just for a short period of time. I will pack raisins, cheerios, fruit & yogurt squeezable grabbers, graham crackers, peanut butter crackers, fruit snacks, as well as a juice box or two & milk. If we are gone for full days, I have a cute little cooler bag, that fits an ice pack. I can pack sandwiched & any items that need refrigeration in there.

Susie hardly drinks any milk anymore, so most of her calories come from solids so I always pack a big lunch bag for the girls. Cheese, yogurt tubes, nuts, crackers, dried fruit, fruit leather or fruit slices…

Thank you for more ideas ladies 🙂 I feel like I am just starting to figure out what Everly likes, and what to bring with me. She seems to be pretty easy going about food.
What sort of lunch box do you use Andrea?
