This morning Everly and I made our way out to Maplewood Farm in North Vancouver for a hangout with friends of ours. I made a pit stop for Starbucks before hitting the road. Thankfully the drive out was long enough for Everly to squeeze her morning nap in. The drive out there, reminded me how much I really like North Vancouver, need to visit out that way more often.
As soon as you enter there are lots of ducks, chickens, and roosters wandering around. You can buy bird feed at the entrance if you would like. All the other animals though, be warned, and you are warned by the signs that the animals may bite.
The donkey startled the munchkins when it made its bray sound. It was pretty loud, and took them by surprise.
I pulled Everly out of the stroller while we were all looking at the horse and donkey. She was brave enough to let the horse nuzzle her hand and mine.
I always enjoy a place with lots of space to walk around. This was a great little spot to feed the ducks. They see you coming and start to swim over so that you will feed them.
There are also goats, rabbits, peacocks and peahens, cows, and parrots to see. Everly enjoyed walking around the rabbit area, while holding onto my fingers, and getting up close to the rabbits.
Its a place that is now definitely on my list to pop in and visit if we need a change of scenery and make our way to that side of the bridge. Plus it was just a great morning spent with friends!
