SO YOU WANT TO HAVE MICROBLADING DONE
I was absolutely sick of filling in my eyebrows every day. Though I enjoy doing my makeup, my eyebrows and I did not get along. We were in a battle of wills and normally my eyebrows won. Leaving one looking “on fleek” and the other a hot mess. I could never get the two looking identical or at least as near to identical as possible. Then friends of mine recommended I look into having microblading done and soon after the opportunity came up to visit Bee Pampered.
Microbladding is also known as cosmetic tattooing or semi-permanent makeup. Gone are the days of heavily lined tattooed brows. Now you can get incredibly natural, fuller looking brows. If you overplucked your brows in your teen years, have sparse brows naturally, light coloured brows or even just want a slightly more defined look to make it easier to distinguish the shape of your brows then microblading is for you.
I was prepared for what was to come when my appointment day arrived thanks to my friends who had gone for microblading before me. I knew the sound was going to be annoying and that by day three after having it done I was going to want to scratch my eyebrows off because they would be incredibly itchy. I was still nervous though and almost backed out the day before, I am so glad I didn’t!
MY EXPERIENCE WITH MICROBLADING
Upon arriving at Bee Pampered I was greeted by Adelle. She is the owner of Bee Pampered, a trained esthetician and microblade artist. I was walked through the paperwork as I filled it out, which I am thrilled to share is now all done through a tablet so Bee Pampered can go paperless. The paperwork discussed what to expect, checked on my health, and more. From there I entered the area where the microblading would be done.
It is very peaceful in Bee Pampered with beautiful subtle colours on the wall and a beachy feel. Music is playing to help you relax during the service you are having. I noticed right away how clean everything was from the floors to the table holding all the products needed for my microblading service. The place was spotless.
To start things off Adelle to her time discussing what shape I hoped to achieve. I had brought images showing my brows when I had filled them and pictures of my brow goals. Taking her time she drew out a shape for my brows checking what I liked and making changes as needed. This took around 15 to 20 minutes to do. I for one am very thankful she took a lot of time drawing the lines to mark my brow. It showed she was as picky as I am in achieving the perfect brow.
This brought me one step closer to the actually microblading part. First, a numbing cream was applied and left to soak in for a bit. I got to relax and listen to the music, all while taking some silly selfies of course. Soon, Adelle was back and ready to start working on filling in my brows with the actual microblading process.
LET THE MICROBLADING BEGIN
I was prepared by my friends who had microblading before me that this was the “annoying” part where you could hear each sweep of the blade across your skin. Some do not care for this sound at all, others can tolerate it. The best way to describe the sound is like you are scratching your own head and can hear it constantly. I was fine with it and just focused on the music playing. For those who think they cannot deal with this sound, bring a music player and pop your headphone in to drown it out.
The first few strokes of the blade were a bit intimidating and brought tears to my eyes but the numbing cream quickly took over and I didn’t feel it. I felt very relaxed through the whole process. Adelle switched back and forth from each eyebrow doing a bit of work and then reapplying numbing cream before going to the other brow. It wasn’t long before my brows were being wiped clean and lotion to help the healing process was being applied.
I was sent home with a packet of the lotion and told how to take care of my brows as they healed. I pretty much lived with the lotion being in a baggy with me at all times with q-tips so that I could reapply the lotion as needed. The lotion was a must 3 days into the healing process when all I wanted to do was scratch my eyebrows off. DON’T SCRATCH!
I was prepared to also notice some blotchy spots from where the scabs may have come off too early during healing. These spots would be addressed in the touch-up appointment. I went through all of the above again 6+ weeks later when my touch-up was scheduled. That appointment went much faster. We addressed my concerns again… spots that needed filling, was I happy with the colour and size. That appointment was much quicker than the first but it’s the one that brought out the best results and left me even more thrilled with my eyebrows.
SINCE HAVING MICROBLADING DONE
I am so happy with the result from having microblading done. I am so glad I did not back out of my initial appointment. I have actually been going out, to work, and other places without filling in my eyebrows. This has helped cut down my makeup routine time. Which as a mom, this is great. Anywhere I can save time is helpful. There are still times where I will fill them in a smidge with makeup to give a more dynamic brow. However, with the microblading I find them to be more even in shape and look even better now thanks to the base shape microblading has created. It has made it easier to follow the shape of my brows and not end up with one looking way better than the other.
Whenever I am asked what I do or use on my brows I now mention that I had microblading done at Bee Pampered. It’s been a total game changer for my brows and in framing my face. I cannot say enough about how much I love the final, touched up brows. If you are thinking about getting your eyebrows done, do it! Go book your appointment. I have been thinking about microblading for some time now. I have some patchy areas in my brows and I would love to have them filled in. Yours look great!!

I would absolutely freak out if I won. I have fair eyebrows and have to colour mine in all the time. I as you use to will have one eyebrow “on fleek” and the other one doing its own thing. Pregnant with number 4 so any chance of cutting down time getting ready in the mornings would be great.

I have been debating this for a while. I’ve never been good at brow maintenance and honestly don’t even know where to start. I have major brow-envy of those I’ve seen done!

I would like to have this done because I am a single mother of a 2 month old and 5 year old that can’t find time to shower half the time, let alone maintain my eyebrows! This would be glorious!

My eyebrows aren’t as full as they used to be. I’d love to not have to fill them everyday. I also love how beautiful and natural microblading looks!

My Brows are ….sad. scruffy mutant caterpillars… I am not a huge makeup buff,… more of an Au Naturel lady …. nudes and neutrals all the way for me so to have the microblading done would be a fabulous and glamorus compromise… I can get a ‘on fleek’ look wthout the work, but also it will look more natural and more….’me’

I spend a lot of time on my eyebrows and I’m good at them. The part that kills me is I have never been able to find a good waterproof product which leaves me checking my brows too much when i should be having fun on a beach day with the kids. Maybe I should give this a try.
Kristina says
Ohhh I would love this! I have ALWAYS had super thin eyebrows due to a thyroid disease that I have. Ive always been asked, “why do you over pluck your eyebrows?” Umm 1. hurtful 2. i dont!!! I have always filled my eyebrows in, but it just isnt the same. A few of my friends have had this done and the results are phenomenal.
Dana Miller says
I would be grateful to have the opportunity to get microblading done. My brows are sparse in patches. Having tweezed them myself for years, they have become too rounded and I welcome the help of an expert to correct them for a more natural arch. I am more self conscious of my face as I am aging and it would be an amazing confidence boost to have my eyes framed by amazing eyebrows!
Stephanie Durston says
Your eyebrows look fantastic!! I’ve wanted to visit Adele since she started microblading but there are always other things that require my financial attention… I would love to win this contest! Entered ☺️

I want to have microblading done because my eyebrows are very thin and light in colour, I always have to draw them in or else it looks like I have no eyebrows!

I was a teenager in the 90’s. Enough said. haha! My brows need this!
Alison says
Your brows have me convinced! Most micro blading I see is too thick for me but yours are perfect!
Meghan says
Your brows are perf! With (almost) 3 under 4 I won’t have any time to fill in these sparse brows (thanks late 90’s)! Always wanted to get this done! Xoxoxo

I have recently been hearing about microblading and would love to try it. With a toddler and a newborn, paired with two different shaped brows… I would be saving so much time.
Shannon Grochowski says
My eyebrows have always been something that I have struggled with all my life. When I was a preteen they were extremely large and bushy and I hated them. So when I was a teenager I ended up shaving them!! Big no no. I screwed them up so badly that my mom offered to get me electrolysis done but I couldn’t keep up with the appointments/payment once she stopped taking me. Since then and into adulthood it’s not something that I take care of because I have no idea how! I’ve tried filling them in myself but just cannot get it!
This would be such an amazing thing to get done and make me feel more confident when speaking to people and just helping to love myself more and self-care which is so important!

Yours look amazing! I was also super sick of colouring mine in on the daily, and just had my second touch up done, this last Friday. I love mine too!
