Some days it seems like all family adventures, and activities have to happen on sunny days? Well, we thought we were headed out on a nice day, only to have the weather change its mind, and have other plans. We ended up stuck in the rain, but we decided since we were already there to just make the most of it. We played mini golf in the rain!
How did this all come about? We knew we wanted to do something together as a family, we just were not sure what. My husband is heading for a golf trip soon, and some how that came up and Evie let us know she wanted to go golfing too. My husband ended up looking up different places to go play mini golf, and picked one that was not far away from home at all. To our pleasant surprise it became an instant favourite.
We headed to Hi-Knoll Mini Golf, which is located in Surrey. Like I mentioned, the weather had other plans that day. It started to rain right as we pulled into the parking lot, but we saw a break in the sky and through we would go for it any ways. Jason offered to baby wear during the round of mini golf, and put Addie in the carrier. We all ended up dashing over to get our putters and golf balls in the colour of our choice. If you’re in the area and go here, be sure to get the coupon from the entertainment book, and use it. It cost us $14 for the three of us to play. For us, we considered that to be pretty reasonable for a family outing.
The rain just kept coming down, thankfully we had been offered a large umbrella to take with us. At one point it was just pouring down, and all you could do was laugh. We still had a great time.
Evie is a total cheater! She played properly for the first few holes but then realized it was much easier to just take her ball closer to the hole and hit it from there. All that mattered was she was having fun. Jason was wearing Addie, and it was not until I went through the photos on my phone that I realized half the time he was playing with his left hand. Perhaps he was just giving us all a fighting chance since he grew up playing golf.
There are some great little features throughout the course. Several different water structures, but the favourite was the little loop you could hit your ball through at one hole. Evie had us redo this shot several times so she could watch.
We will definitely be back to play this course again. We realized on this day that our adventures do not have to always be on a sunny day. While we may not have been prepared with the proper rain gear, we all still really enjoyed our time together. It was family time for the four of us, and that is what was needed.

I love hearing that you played mini golf in the rain! It sounds so fun and something I think my little nieces would love. Next week my husband and I are in charge of babysitting the girls so I think we will go to mini golf. I hope it rains!

Love it! Especially since we live on the wet coast it’s important to embrace the rain and get out to enjoy ourselves in spite of it.
