A friend of ours is going through a bit of a rough time, if you have a chance go over and read her blog. Since Jason does not start work til 2pm this week, I offered him up to watch her oldest either at ladies bible study this morning, or even for us to come over and watch him or take him for a walk.
We headed over this morning after Jason made a pit stop to get a little cup of pumpkin spice pick-me-up for us moms. Carolyn got me hooked on this drink two years ago, so I always look forward to it in the fall. We played and visited for a little bit, and then we headed outside so that Noah and Everly could have a morning adventure. They have a great little playground nearby, so our first destination was there. Noah showed Everly how to go down a slide. With a little help from her Dad, she slid down holding her Dad’s hand a few times. At one point Jason went down the slide with both kids. Everly enjoyed trying to climb up the slide. The wood chips were a also a huge hit. I have to say Noah is so good around Everly, sometimes he can forget she is still small, but she is always so happy to get to hang out with him. Though, we are sure she will be the one kid to tackle Noah in the future if he were to ever take a toy away from her.Soon we were informed that Noah wanted to go for a walk. So we packed Everly into the stroller and left the playground. Apparently Jason and Noah already have a few little routines from previous walks of places he likes to visit, or things he does. Noah was great about holding an adults hand, and looking both ways before crossing the road. I was extremely impressed. We toured the neighbourhood, pointed out animals along the way, and made sure to crunch all the colourful leaves on the ground as we walked past. At some point Everly chucked her Sophie the Giraffe out of the stroller and we had to turn around and find it. Thankfully, we did not have to back track too much.
It was a nice little morning adventure. Everly crashed for a nap as soon as we got home, I can only hope and pray Noah had a nap too.
