We might not have known it at the time, but we definitely needed a new ice cream place in town. Duke’s Fine Ice Cream opened a couple of weeks ago and we couldn’t be more thrilled about it. Duke’s has brought handmade, artisanal ice cream, sherbert, and vegan sorbet in classic and unique flavours. You can get a waffle cone or a cup. You can even get a pint to go!
We have gone twice now since it opened. Having heard raving reviews from many others we decided we had to check it out. It did not disappoint. We’re still trying to figure out what the exact hours are and they are not displayed on their social media accounts yet. Basically, our current suggestion is to drive by and see if they are open. I know, not very helpful. Oh, and our other big suggestion is to get a pint to go!
Our first time at Duke’s we all got a cone or a cup of ice cream. The staff kindly offered to do a cone in a cup for our kids as the ice cream was still a bit soft as it was freshly made. So far we have tried Republica Coffee, Republica Earl Grey, Salted Caramel, and Cookies + Cream. All were fantastic! When we got home, we immediately regretted not getting a pint to bring home.
Having some great ice cream was just w hat we needed as a little pick-me-up. There’s no hiding that the last year has been trying in so many ways. Little things like a cup of ice cream brings so much joy to our kiddo’s faces. Even our littlest had her first taste of ice cream.
