fairy_books01 No one is ever too old for fairytales! If Albert Einstein said that “If you want your children to be intelligent, read them fairytales.” then surely there must be something to it. Evie is at that perfect age where she is all about fairytales, and make-believe. After Raincoast Books caught wind of our fairy houses, they sent us a wonderful fairy themed package filled with wonder.

fairy_books03fairy_books04 A Fairy Friend is a wonderful picture book. Upon reading this book and looking at all of the beautiful artwork something made me wonder about the illustrator, and sure enough, my hunch was right. This book is illustrated by a Disney illustrator! Between the story and the artwork you are taken away to a land where all things are miniature. If your child does not already love all things fairy and has never wanted to build a fairy house they will be asking soon after reading this book!
 fairy_books05 fairy_books06Enchanted Forest was quickly claimed by my oldest daughter. She fell in love with all of the colouring pages and wants to do each one on her own. Since it first arrived she has since allowed me to get to colour some of the pages too! You want to start at the beginning of the book because it does take you through a visual journey, without words you are transported through a forest and eventually to a castle. There is even a special gate-folded two-page spread. Books like these do take some time to colour but are perfect for when you need some downtime. My daughter can just sit there for awhile colouring away.
 fairy_books07 fairy_books08The last book is providing lots of inspiration for when we build our next fairy houses, which my daughter has requested to happen immediately. Fairy House is perfect for any child who has loved making fairy gardens, now you can have ideas for how to go about making houses, wishing wells, and so much more. Your imagination will run wild as you flip through the pages of this book, and you will have all sorts of ideas for what you might wish to create. It helps to provide a great opportunity to build something as a family. I also love that many of the ideas use items you can find outside.

    The fairy house book looks awesome! My son would love it because he’s very hands on and loves doing projects like that. And of course there’s fairies! How else would we get to visit Peter Pan!

      AND to answer your question. I like to believe in the possibility of faeries….I think it is more about the youthful innocence and magic that I believe in

    I am struck by the fairy house book. It would be fun to build something like that. Do I believe in fairies? Mostly yes, but I think they are very sneaky. You dont often see or hear them.
