This weekend we tried to do a lot of family time, and just have some fun. In a post earlier you saw our adventures at Stanley Park. The following day we went to my brother-in-laws work family bbq. Everly liked watching the soft ball game they had going on. With it being held at a park she got to go in a swing at a park for the first time since they had the infant swings. Jason and his brother suited up in those sumo wrestler suits to see who was the tougher brother. We all got to paint some Styrofoam blocks. We were also treated to yummy Vera burgers.
After the bbq, since we were already on the other side of the bridge, we made a quick stop at Ikea because we have been looking for different dinning room chairs and a little table for outside our front door. Still no table, but we did come home with two beautiful new chairs thanks to the clearance section.
Everly has started to eat more solid foods, she still loves vegetables, and tries some beef too since we made Shepherd’s Pie. It seems she is more than willing to try different things.
That start of some creative fun, thanks to my friend Olivia for the idea! We added just a smidgen of food colouring to some baby yogurt and put some spoonfuls on her tray.
She wasn’t too sure what to think at first.
But sure enough, she went for it and just started smudging it all around. She actually never tried to eat it, but I was happy with the fact that if she did try to lick her fingers, it would be ok.
Since she was already a mess, we let her continue her fun in the bathtub. She really liked getting to smudge the yogurt all over the tub, and make a mess. Easy clean up since it was bath time right after.
Our Sunday School year has begun at our church, the them this year is Western. There was even an authentic saddle brought in for a decoration. Everly was a little unsure about it. Maybe if it had actually been on a horse she’d have been more interested in it, this girl loves animals. Between morning meeting and Sunday School in the evening we went to Harvey’s in Surrey to visit my Aunt and cousin who were working the final shift there, as it sadly is closing today. Jason got to have his first and last Harvey’s burger. Since it was located in a Home Depot we also looked at colour swatches for the living room. We came home with a massive stack of them, but have already worked our way down to just a few we like.
Oh, I should write this down so I remember. Yesterday at home in the living room, and then today at church, Everly stood on her own for a few seconds. Does this mean we could be in for it real soon? One of our friends made a comment the other day that she may skip walking and just go right to running with how much energy she seems to have. I think he may be right!

Carolyn, your Mom mentioned that last night when she saw Everly wearing it. Its become a new favourite since we love owls and Everly in blue.

I got a question:
Is there a differene between baby yogurt and normal yogurt?
tamaraelda says
Nope, its just a plain yogurt really. The only difference was it had a 50% off sticker because the store had an over stock of them and needed to clear them out. So worked out to being a better deal!
