On our most recent family camping trip to Kelowna we zoomed up to Vernon with the sole purpose of visiting Davison Orchards. It is a place that was recommended to us by several friends, upon arrival we could see why instantly.
We popped into the market first. There were all sorts of local produce, a variety of preserves, and baked goods. Plus different little country themed items all throughout. We taste tested different jams, butters, caramels and so much more. Each one was better than the last.
Addie was pleased to get to try some old fashioned caramel and Evie wanted to try all of the different butters over and over again before agreeing with Jason on which we were to get and bring home.
The play areas were next up. The one beside the Deep Dish Café is great for younger kids. It had a small slide, a couple of horse-shaped tire swings, a vintage tractor, and all sorts of sand items to play with. Even little Addie had a go at the slide with some help of course.
I was pleasantly surprised to see a photo spot set up. There was a post set up with a selfie stick attached that you could connect your phone to and direct it to wherever you would like to take a photo. Simply set the timer on the camera of your phone and get in place. We were able to get a family photo without having to ask someone else to stop what they were doing and to please take a photo for us.
A highlight for me was seeing that pumpkins and gourds were already showing up around the place. There were huge crates full of them! Evie is already incredibly excited for Fall. She knows that her sister’s birthday is near pumpkin season so now she thinks a party is near.
We made our way around to the Crazy Cow Kids corral and to see the farm animals. There was so much for kids to do. It is a great place to go for kids to get all of their energy out. They can run, climb, slide, play games, and so much more. I loved that they tied in the farm theme with everything. I would suggest making sure you have some change on hand for getting a rubber duckie to race down the water shoots or to get feed for the different animals.
Before returning back to Kelowna we popped into the market to pick up the apple cinnamon butter Evie and Jason agreed on as well as a few other things. It was also very hot out that day and Davison Orchards has amazing apple juice that they turn into a slushie. Get the large size and share between your family. It hit the spot to cool us all down.
We will most definitely be visiting Davison Orchards again the next time we are in town. It’s easily become a new favourite location for us to go to in the Okanagan.

Awwwww… love this! We have a farm with an apple orchard and pumpkin patch that we visit each fall with the kids. 🙂 Love that they have a photo spot set-up! So clever to have a selfie stick available for people to use.

These pictures are beautiful. What a great idea they had to set up the selfie stick!
