Yesterday brought the opportunity to go explore some of Deep Cove. We were visiting friends out in North Vancouver in the afternoon, and I had promised Evie that we would go and get some ice cream. So we headed to Gallant Avenue to wander around.
We decided to pop into Deep Cove Ice Cream Café where Evie was overwhelmed by the options. The employee helping us was incredible, and so kind to Evie as she asked to try all of the pink options. At least she knew she wanted something pink. There was classic strawberry, bubble gum, cotton candy, and more. Oddly enough she didn’t even get ice cream. She went with the rainbow sherbert and had it dipped in rainbow sprinkles!
While wondering over to the ice cream shop Evie spotted a little spot with a water feature and several benches around. She informed me on the walk over that this was the spot she wanted to sit and enjoy her ice cream. So we headed back there where Evie learned the need to not dilly dally while eating a frozen treat. With it being 28C out it started to melt quickly, but she got it mastered. I’m just thankful to always have baby wipes on hand. Seriously, a must! Even when I don’t need them for diaper changes anymore I will be keeping wipes in my purse.
I was also reminded recently of Honey’s Doughnuts so we bought one of those too to share between the three of us girls. Yes it was a day of treats. Don’t worry I had packed a picnic for all of us too that included all sorts of healthy items. We lucked out in the fact that a fresh batch of doughnuts had just been brought out. I warn you they are sticky, but a nice change to what we have enjoyed at other local places that sell doughnuts.
We enjoyed our doughnut after spending a good chunk of time letting Evie play at the local playground. It was the perfect little spot in the shade, and there were lots of kids. I think all parents had the same idea of having their kids get out as much energy as possible before dinner time.
The highlight of the night though was sitting by the water, and also going down on to the beach and splashing around. It was so nice to just relax and have a bit of a girls day. We hope to be back out to Deep Cove again soon. Evie wants to get to go kayaking or go paddle boarding with her Dad soon. We will likely spend a whole day out that way again this Summer.
Have you been to Deep Cove? Any recommendations for places to go and explore?

Aww I love that Evie wanted something pink, that’s so cute and so like me at that age! Deep Cove looks absolutely beautiful as most of BC is.
