With our firstborn we realized right away that there were going to be nursing problems, and that bottles were going to be a part of what we needed to feed our child, the same realization happened again with our second daughter. This time though we knew exactly what brand we were going to use right away, Playtex®. The first time round, we tried out many different brands, and spent a lot of money until someone finally asked us if we had tried any Playtex® bottles. I so wish they had said something sooner, because sure enough we found a bottle that finally worked.
While my daughter gets the best of both worlds with breast feeding, and bottle feeding, all that truly matters to me is that she is happy and healthy… whether thats with formula, or breast milk. Thankfully, my newborn does not judge. She just wants to be fed. This time round we tried out Playtex® Nurser with Drop-Ins® Liners. We introduced the bottle early on, and she took to it very easily. I really like that the bottle bends to be angled, which makes holding the bottle for feedings comfy, but it is also recommended to feed baby in a semi-upright position and having a bottle angled like this really helps encourage that. With this style of bottle you use Drop-Ins® Liners. All you do is pop a liner into the bottle, and fill it with formula, or breast milk. As your little one feeds the liner collapses on itself to prevent air from mixing in with the milk, and then the air getting into baby’s tummy. This makes a huge difference in helping to reduce gas, and discomfort for baby. With other bottles, we noticed the air bubbles going into the milk with each feeding, which in turn resulted in one fussy baby, and several larger than usual spit-up moments. Since our oldest daughter had reflux issues, we knew the importance of making sure no extra air entered into bottles during feedings.
I really like that Playtex® had a universal design now between their bottles, and you can get nipples that are interchangeable between them, there is even a variety pack of nipples you can get in order to figure out if your baby prefers a different nipple style than the one that comes with the bottles. Thanks to the disposable Drop-Ins® you use with the bottles, they make for very easy preparation and cleanup. This is wonderful when you have 1am, half asleep feedings. The liners are sterilized already simply pop one into the bottle, fill, feed your baby. Afterwards, just pull the liner out, and toss. Use a new one for the next feeding, and pop of the used nipple and replace with another that is clean. Worry about washing all the nipples when you are truly awake in the morning. This bottle style I can see being so handy for trips. Having gone on vacation with a bottle fed baby, I love the idea of only needing one or two bottles, several nipples, and a bunch of liners. That would save so much packing space.
I have spoken very highly of bottles from Playtex® to all of my friends who have asked what we’ve used, and now Playtex® Nurser with Drop-Ins® Liners are added to my list of ones we love. You can buy these bottles on Amazon here and get the liners here. The prices for these bottles are definitely more friendly on the piggy bank than any others from the extensive list of ones we have tried, you are looking at about $5.99 per bottle in major retailers. The liners cost $9.49 for 100 of them on Amazon.ca You can also find a great starter set that is available too!

My sister recommended the drop ins once we started pumping and then supplementing after my supply dropped. It was a million times easier to use the drop ins then to wash bottles. When you are pumping, any extra time you can save is a lifesaver! Do you have the pumping kit…so you can pump right into the drop ins and store it that way?
