36 weeks… I feel like we are in the final stretch now. Baby girl could arrive as early as next week, and that would be okay as her lungs should be fully developed at 37 weeks. My mommy instinct this time has been saying that this little girl will be coming early. With my first born, I knew in my gut she was going to be late though I did not want to admit it. I am still not getting my hopes up, because I know this little girl might stay in there to 41 weeks or so. She will do whatever she wants.
I had a chiropractor appointment this week for my usual checkup. I wish I had mentioned some of how I was feeling earlier in the pregnancy. Recently it had seemed like baby girl was going between breech and back to back on my. I was in a pain from where she was. My chiro did what is called the Webster Technique to check things, and do some adjustments. I was definitely really tight on the left side. This adjustment made a huge different in how I felt, it was like a huge amount of weight was lifted off me instantly. After leaving the appointment baby girl did some big movements. I haven’t felt her move so much in awhile. I had my regular prenatal appointment check up the next day, and I mentioned to my doctor that I had been concerned about how baby girl was presenting, and that my chiropractor had done some adjustments. She right away did some checking herself, and even brought in a portable ultrasound machine. Sure enough baby girl is back to where she needs to be, and in the ideal presentation position. Now I hope, and pray that she stays put! It was so nice to get to see her again. Her little features, and her heart beating away. Made me even more excited to see her in the coming weeks.
How far along? 36 weeks and 3 days
Gender: Sweet little baby girl
Name: We have a couple names we’ve been tossing around lately. One middle name is for sure. Debating a second middle name now. This time round we are not confirming a name til little girl gets here.
Weight Gain/Loss: I’m now up to 10lbs gained this pregnancy. We’ll see how much more that may go up in the final weeks. I’m walking all over the school I work at since I’m helping in several classes. It will be interesting to see how much comes off right after baby is born too.
Maternity clothes? I just bought a long sleeve maternity shirt the other day, and I am loving it. My only issue is that no shirt is ever long enough for me so I have to wear a shirt underneath, thankful for my undercover mama tanks. I’m starting to look forward to getting back to my usual clothing.
Stretch marks? No way of avoiding them, I have several.
Belly Button in or out? It is almost flat, and out. Evie for whatever reason likes to poke me in the belly button lately too.
Sleep: Sleep and I are just not on happy terms right now. I have some serious pregnancy insomnia going on. Between that, and being back to work, I have been hit by a cold. So need that to go away before baby girl gets here.
Best moment this week: Our favourite pumpkin patch, Aldor Acres, very kindly let us come in before opening weekend, this Saturday to take our maternity photos/family photos. We cannot wait to see the photos and get to share them with everyone. It was fun to walk the fields as a family, and wander around the farm. We got to see day old piglets, and meet two baby goats that behave more like puppies. Evie had a great time, and it made us all look forward to family outings like this as a family of 4.
Movement: I mentioned last week that I was concerned baby girl was backwards, and possibly breech. As mentioned above, my adjustments at chiro had her do some big moves, and she is definitely in the ideal position now after my check up at the doctors this week.
Food cravings: I’m really wanting a good cup of apple cider, like what is available at the Christmas market here in Vancouver. Anyone have a good recipe?
Miss Anything? Right now I really miss sleep, and being comfy in my own bed.
Have people started asking when is baby coming?: I’m now to the point of people saying “oh baby will be here any day!” not really, she still has some time to go, though I would love for her to be here early October. That would be okay with me.
Labor signs: Lots and lots of braxton hicks, and do they ever hurt! I actually downloaded a few contraction timer apps to my phone just to have on hand. We used one last time when I went into labor with Evie and it sure helped the nurses to know what was going on.
Wedding rings on or off: It only comes off my finger when I go to bed. Still fitting just fine.
Happy or moody most of the time: I’m happy, and getting really excited for baby girls arrival.
Looking forward to: Delivery day. It is a bit intimidating, but I cannot wait for her arrival. I’m not worried about delivery because I know I will be in good hands with the doctors from my prenatal unit and those at the hospital we are delivering at. I want this baby girl to be here, and to get to hold her in my arms.

Gorgeous photos!! I am also 36 weeks and I have to say I’m super jealous of your 10 lb weight gain! I’m at 30 lbs so far and I feel like it’s quite rapidly adding up at the moment. Doesn’t help that I’m always hungry! I am wishing it would cool off even more on my side of Canada (TO), but it’s still pretty hot here. I am getting a lot of questions about when I’m due as well, and everyone seems to think it’s coming up soon except me! lol feels like forever until that magical day (or later, as my first two were both 5 days late!).

Don’t be jealous, my first I gained 25lbs I believe it was. Something like that. I lost it all really fast, but then gained a chunk and then some back thanks to the meds they had me try to increase my milk supply. I am still working towards a goal of loosing 40% of my body mass… after baby arrives, and I have the clear to work towards that. I have family out your way, and I keep hearing its toasty. My poor husband, even here, I make him leave the AC on for me each night I am boiling. Even a thin bed sheet is too much. Keep me posted Sarah on how you are doing, especially since we are so close!
