SUMMER… WE’RE WAITING FOR YOU
We have recently had a hint of Summer weather thanks to a heat wave that’s come through our area. With temperatures peaking at 33C in some areas we needed to find a way to cool down. It meant breaking some rules, which we didn’t realize until later… oops. The girls got to stay up past bedtime drawing with chalk and playing in the sprinkler so that they could cool down before bedtime. Plus it was a great way to get all their energy out before bed.
Dinners have been kept very simple and consumed outside. I am so thankful that Jason will happily bbq dinner for us all so that we don’t heat up the house more by turning the oven on. Otherwise, it’s pb&j sandwiches for everyone. Which isn’t a bad thing because the girls love them and will happily eat them.
If anything, this weather has given us a glimpse into what we can look forward to this Summer. Bring on all the family time spent together, slower days filled with lots of time spent outside in the sun. I cannot wait for all of the adventures to come.

Playing more in the backyard with the sprinkler and/or pool. Having the flowers show up and the strawberries and raspberries in our yard appear too.

I am looking forward to warmer weather, swimming, and going to the beach (USA) It has been crazy temperatures every week: hot, cold, then multiple Ef1 tornadoes just a few days ago in Connecticut.

My kids are all grown now so summer for us would probably be trips to the beach. If I need to babysit for my grandchildren, I’d have to take out their splash pad so they can have fun outdoors.
