Anyone else with a major fan of Tangled in their home? We recently received a copy of Tangled Before Ever After, a new Disney Channel original movie, and it’s been a great addition to our Disney collection. We get a look at what life was like for Rapunzel when she returned home.
After all those years stuck in a tower, everyone’s favorite “barefoot princess” (Mandy Moore) yearns to make up for lost time. With the help of her true love Eugene (Zachary Levi), pals Pascal and Maximus and daring new friend Cassandra, Rapunzel postpones her wedding and royal duties to defy danger and boldly explore life beyond Corona’s walls. Sparkling with fun, adventure and music from the legendary Alan Menken, Tangled Before Ever After is a magical movie event!!
I feel like this movie means more to me than it does my daughter because finally, Disney is answering questions about what life is like after the princess has met her prince and everything is all happily ever after. There was already the story of Rapunzel and how she ended up in a tower and then met Flynn. As well as the story about how their wedding went. But, what about everything in between?
One of the big surprises is Rapunzel ends up having her long, blonde locks back! Crazy, I know. I am not going to give any spoilers beyond that. What I really appreciated is that the Tangled Before Ever After showed Rapunzel struggling with adjusting to her life back in the castle. Just how does she do with having to wear shoes instead of running around barefoot all the time?
My daughter quickly discovered the journal that was tucked inside the movie case. It was her own copy of Rapunzel’s journal that her mom gives her in the movie. It has blank pages in it that she cannot wait to fill with the different adventures she gets up to. Adventures that she hopes are full of excitement like Rapunzel experiences.
Tangled Before Ever After is definitely targeted at a younger audience. It may also take a minute or two to get used to the different artwork style. Things are kept very straight forward from the characters we know to the new ones that are introduced. A favorite, is Cassandra, Rapunzel’s lady-in-waiting. I really appreciated how they stay true to the Rapunzel character I know and love from Tangled, with having her face struggles in a way she would.
If you are a fan of Tangled and want to get a better idea of what life is like back with her family and living in the castle, you’ll want to watch Tangled Before Ever After. In fact, you can even enter to win a copy for yourself!

Rapunzel
My daughter is loving the series so far. She was super excited when it came on as Rapunzel is her fav princess.
And her favorite character is Pascal!
So fun! My girls would love this.
My granddaughter would say her favourite character is Rapunzel. She went through a phase where she would put things like tights on her head and pretend the legs were her long Rapunzel hair and she would sing all the songs. My daughter finally got her a Rapunzel wig which she never wanted to take off.
Favourite character is rapunzel of course!
My favourite is Flynn Rider – must be “the smolder” that won me over, haha! My daughters both love Rapunzel the best though.
