The Perfect Storm

Have you ever asked “Why are there so many more children being diagnosed and labeled as ADHD, autism, allergies, and asthma than there was ____ number of years ago?” I sure have, especially with working in the field of helping these children, and with being a mom. I am wanting to know what gives, and why is this happening. Is there a connection?

Thanks to my chiropractor, Dr Rai of Rai Chiropractic, I am getting to attend an interesting lecture next week that is about just that. The lecture is titled The Perfect Storm and it is being presented by Dr Tony Ebel, it it Dr Ebel will be addressing the above question.

The Perfect Storm is called so as it explains what is happening to our children today. Never before have we seen such high rates of Autism, ADHD, Allergies, Asthma, Ear Infections, Constipation, Migraines, etc… and the list goes on and on at alarming rates.  The truth is, it’s not one thing causing all of these problems… but instead it’s a set of many different “common ingredients” that add up and accumulate themselves into disorders that we then call Autism, ADHD, Ear Infections and more.

I am definitely intrigued to hear Dr Ebel’s thoughts about what is going on in this world that all of these things are increasing at such an alarming rate, and what we can do to help keeps our kids as healthy as possible. As a parent I like to inform myself on all possible sides when it comes to things like this.
