Jason and I went to get my feet checked for what sort of running shoes would be best for me. I’ve never been one to spend a lot of money on shoes. Though that being said, the most recent pair I owned I actually splurged on because I wanted something light weight for packing to take with me on a trip.
Several people suggested to either go to The Running Room or to Kintec. We headed to Kintec in Langley. The staff there were great, but like many stores the employees really want to push you to make a sale. This I did not like, but I expected it going in.
They had me walk on a treadmill, and they filmed a clip of it to check on their computer. Apparently I have high arches, but one arch is starting to collapse. They also wanted to know if I had any problems with me knees or anything. Yup, destroyed me knees playing sports, add loose joints to that and its a fun combo.
I did not leave with shoes that day as I really was not a fan of the selection they had to offer, at least I knew what I needed to look for in a shoe now. I did get some running socks though, that was another thing that was suggested to me with my goal of the Sun Run.
We recently made a trip to the States for the wedding of two of our friends, we managed to leave early enough to be able to go to the outlet mall down there. I lucked out in having two options (plus the shoes I wasn’t a fan of from Kintec), and I left with a much better deal than what I would have paid at home.
My shoes have been Everly approved, and they sure do make a difference in how my feet feel after going out for a walk/jog.
