Starting February 6th the feature at the Vancouver Aquarium is: Up Close. This coming Saturday I am going to the Vancouver Aquarium to take part in their Up Close blogger event. Which I am extremely excited to check out.
I love going to the aquarium, always have since I was a little kid. Its part of what made me dream about becoming a marine biologist when I was a little kid. That dream didn’t come true, however I still enjoy going there. I’ve always wondered though what it is like to take care of all of the different creatures at the aquarium.
Now is the opportunity to find out, just in time for BC’s Family Day long weekend, and its going til the end of April. The aquarium apparently has a bunch of new interactive shows, and displays to help us all better understand what all goes into taking care of all the creatures there. There is even the chance that you may get selected for a hands-on experience by getting to help feed some of the animals in the Straight of Georgia, or you may get the chance to visit the wet lab. Either of those make me excited to visit during this time. The one thing thought that I would be having my fingers crossed for is the possibility of getting to participate in a training session with the dolphins or otters! YES! Please pick me!
Its a great chance to learn something new about the aquarium, and to even ask some questions you may have. I have been really appreciating seeing more staff and volunteers around the aquarium when we have visited. This has been great in offering more opportunities to learn. I have been so impressed with how great everyone at the aquarium is with all of the children who go through there.
I am so looking forward to Saturday, and am counting down how many sleeps to go.
