We had a really good weekend. It was all about family time it seems, with extended family too (meaning our friends). We started off the weekend by getting to go out Friday evening as just a couple. Evie stayed home, my Mom came over to watch her and put her to bed, while we went out to celebrate our friend’s birthday. It was great to get out as just a couple, but we did miss our daughter the whole time. Still, time out as just a couple is so needed. It was really great to hang out with all our friends too, several of them were without their little ones too.
We went and said goodbye to my childhood home on Thursday afternoon, but I thought I’d share photos now. My family moved out a few months back, and the home is now slated for demolition and is slowly being taken apart from the inside out. I’m sad to see it go, but it would have need a whole lot of love to make it a home again. So many memories are from the time we had in this home. I wish they still made houses like this. Give me a small, but room enough home, with a yard!I have been loving the weather we have been having recently. Sure the morning start off cold, but how incredible has the sunlight been. It makes me look forward to spring time.
Since Jason had to work one day on the weekend, I decided to take Evie out to the Aquarium again. We are putting my membership to good use already. My parents, and one of my sister’s also joined us. We loaded into my car early in the morning and headed out. Wonder if my parents were having memory flashbacks the whole time we were there? Back to when they would take my sisters and I when we were as young as Evie.
She is all about walking… everywhere! Sure we brought the stroller, but she wanted to walk. And walk she did. I was so thankful for all the extra eyes on her while we were there. Made it a whole lot less stressful for me. She especially loves walking on, stomping on, and dancing on all the different surfaces she could find. Including going from one frog decal to another that lines the floors inside the aquarium.
We started using her lunchbox this weekend, and I am already so glad we have it. Evie loves being able to see all the different options she has and picking out what she wants to eat. Makes it so much easier. The little containers are great to keep things divided too. This way the veggies don’t taste like berries from all the juices that have come out of them. I’m planning on getting a few more little containers already.
We finished up the weekend with a quick little visit to Mastermind Toys, we let her run around for a bit in there checking everything out. I wanted to get her a little water colouring book to help keep her entertained when we are out and about. If you haven’t been into this store yet, it can be a lot of fun to just visit. Be prepared for a potential melt down though if your child realizes that they cannot take the stuffed pink octopus home with them.
