Everly’s weekend began with some creative play, that started because we were trying to keep her in our sight while doing dishes. We plunked her in the diaper box and gave her some crayons to play with. She was happy for a bit. Definitely going to do this again the next time we get a large enough box for her to climb into.
My sister and I went to the mall to check out the Disney store, they had a coupon for 25% off your entire purchase. We did, however, leave empty handed. We were on a mission to find a Rafiki toy but there were none.
Saturday evening Jason went out with Everly to go for a dinner with family friends/his brother’s soon to be in-laws and his own parents had arrived in town to visit. I already had plans for the evening and was going out to the Ladies Tea at our church. He took the car, and I carpooled with my Mom. I was able to get ready before hand without getting distracted by a munchkin trying to use the drawer handles as a ladder, or getting climbed on by said munchkin and stabbing my eye with my mascara. I had time to curl my hair, and I even pulled out the pearl necklace Jason gave to me as a wedding gift.
The theme at the tea was the changing seasons, each table was decorated for a season. The one my Mom and I sat at was decorated for fall. It was a great evening to visit with friends and all of the other ladies from church. The guys from church even served the tea! It was a lovely night. I was a little sad to get home so late in the evening that I was not there for Everly’s bedtime routine. That didn’t stop me from going in to check on her before I went to bed for the night. I found her snuggled up to her red panda.
Sunday was a busy day. We went to the early morning, first service at The Village Church, to support our friends as they had their children dedicated. Some churches do this, and it is a public commitment before God, your church, your family, and friends to guide and lead your children to know the love of Christ our Savior. In the afternoon, Everly and I had a short visit at a bridal shower for Jason’s brothers fiance, Everly’s Grandma was also there (like I said Jason’s parents are down for the weekend). We had to leave soon after as Everly was getting really tired, it was her nap time. Meanwhile at home Jason and his Dad were working on a project for our house, a new baby gate! I cannot wait for it to be done so I can paint it red!
